Hi everyone. I couldn’t find a thread on this. So… I made one!

I have wanting a better set up for my first aid kit. So finding that these panels are less expensive than other brands, I went for it.

Install was fairly simple. Alot of the Amazon reviews stated that the screws were too short. Mine were perfect length ;) so either people were confused on installation or Hooke Road fixed the issue.

I didn’t drill holes like the instructions stated nor did I mark each hole with a marker. Instead I held the panel in place, started one screw on one end then one on the other.
Now that the panel is in place, I carefully started a screw in the rest of the holes. Then remove all screws and panel.

Now it was time to deal with the shiny stainless screw heads…

Thats better. Oh and I sprayed the spacers too.

Now once the PAINT IS FULLY DRY (i did not lol) go ahead and put it together!

Loving this panel so far! Hope this helps anyone considering one.
I plan on ordering drivers side soon.

Looks great! Thinking about a molle panel for my console right now and will definitely refer here for the install!

I just ordered that same pouch. I was curious, does the tear away Velcro not adhere to the carpet?

Yes it did but over time the carpet gets “furry looking”

Sweet. I had the pouch stuck to my carpet on that side several years on my second gen, and a few years on my current truck. It worked ok but this has been so much nicer.

I did the same thing with my console molle. I keep another smaller molle bag for cables and whatnot.

So it’s furry love or drilling holes into the plastic then, right?

 My truck is already furry as it is. :anonymous:

Med pouch arrived 5 minutes ago. (Love it, by the way. Great way to keep my bandaids and butt cream organized.)

I'm trying to space things out. Looks like you have yours mounted where I have my chalk bag. That limits my options. Where else could I loop into? The star maybe?

    A) you really don't lose leg room for small items mounted there unless you like to sit completely spread-eagled. In that case, please keep your knees out of my soda. :cookiemonster:

    B) I like to keep everything minimal and stowed out of sight, with the one exception of a good first aid kit. I want as few barriers between myself and that.

Here's my lesson that I learned the hard way:

I did a short 5 mile hike a few years ago, so short I didn't even carry a day pack, just a single water bottle. Towards the end I slipped and tore up my hand and leg pretty good. At the time I had a nice first aid kit in the camper, and a bare minimal $10 band-aid kit in the truck glovebox. I figured that was plenty. I got a reality check during this moment, when the truck was at the trailhead and the camper was parked 15 miles beyond that.

I hoofed it back to the trailhead and patched myself up enough to get to camp where I could clean and dress it properly. I also used the remaining alcohol wipes to get the blood off the door handle and dashboard. But I took this as a lesson that I need to have a much better kit in the truck.

Backseat storage is a no-go for emergency items because of how the seats fold and what items, people or pets need moving before accessing. It needs to be in a spot that can be reached no matter how the truck is loaded, or who is sitting in what seat, or which door I open first.

That's why i moved my kit to the ugly spot of the passenger footwell. Not because of space constraints. But because if I ever need that bag again, I need it NOW.

I did try the molle seat back panels. They got in the way for my kids in the back seat.

But like @Rock Lobster said, I want my first aid kit within quick and easy reach

Id say you could probably mount to the star going sort of diagonal. The pouch would go with the contour of the glove box?

i do wish the supplied screws and spacers were longer. you have to flex the plastic to get a button snap to pass through and there is maybe 4 turns before the screws pop out. i have the same kit and a dump pouch fit for a 1 gallon water bottle in the star area, diagonal so the bottle is easy to grab, chug and slide back without taking my eyes off the road

another thing about leg room, it beats having your gear flopping between the passengers legs and unless they are venting their balls full manspread or built like the michelin man it doesn't interfere with the usable legroom

I was just looking at ordering these but I’m just not sure how I feel about that star being on there. Excuse my ignorance but is that a sort of military emblem or just a random star they used?
