OK! Sounds great, the rear bumper is very easy to remove! I live in Florida and the sun here is a killer, how resistant to UV rays do you think that the powder coat is?

I don’t know much about powder coats but I’m thinking this one is lower end. It appears thick and will probably hold up for a little while. I may never find out because my truck always sits in the garage lol

Does this mount to the bumper reinforcement or the hitch? Both of mine were rusted out so I'm left with the frame and a new Curt hitch on the way. Wondering if I'll need anything elst to mount. It appears the frame is about an inch wider than the bumper mount brackets. Thanks.

One of the only bumpers on Amazon, gets me everytime. Not sure if I am going to order one but my stock bumper is all dented up.

I plan to grab one off Amazon in the next few weeks. My truck is waiting on a frame replacement that should happen soon so I'll let the dealer loosen all the rusty bolts for me and do the bumper when I get the truck back.

I’m torn. I don’t know if I want to get my roof rack for my camper or save a little bit more for these bumpers.

Did this bolt to the bumper reinforcement bar or not? Im currently replacing the stock hitch and can get another sock class 4 hitch without the reinforcement for MUCH cheaper. The thread linked below shows what's left of the stock reciever after 14 years in the northeast.

Ouch, I saw your thread the other day, salt and rust are no fun.

it was a direct replacement for a Tacoma with the standard tow package. 6 bolts in total.

Oh that's awesome, it bolts where the reinforcement bar would bolt to in the hitch.
Yeah if it wasn't for the frame recall, my truck would have snapped in 2 by now. The frame was replaced 4.5 years ago and i still needed to heat the hitch bolts with a torch to get them off, as well as hammer the sockets onto the bolts to bust through the rust.

You ditch the bumper reinforcement. You do need the factory tow hitch, though. Four bolts on the frame and two bolts to the factory hitch.

So, you do retain the stock hitch? The bumper is separate?

I know this is an older post but I just got one and wanted to share a pic of it mounted on my 06 turd. I have some minor fitting adjustments to do but I’m fairly happy with it for the most part other than some dings in the powder coating...

Thanks! Unfortunately I don’t have a whole lot of info on it other than I bought it off a guy that owned a 1996 Tacoma and it’s a 5 piece 3” tube design with 3 light tabs.

    Like, so many.
I'll keep this in mind if I need to replace my stock bumper.

So what if you do not have a factory receiver? Mine did not come from the factory with a towing package...

I'm assuming I would want to make all new brackets and attach them to the aftermarket receiver. The factory folded pieces of sheet metal that hold the rear bumper on are garbage. And of course there's nowhere to bolt the bottom too bolts.

Figure I could add this to this thread: Got one of these yesterday . I’ m actually really impressed with the quality for $700! Anyone else running it ? I’ll report back with some pics & feed back once I get it installed. B3D50D2C-9E33-4BAD-B249-E532B5C129FB.jpg
