Since I’m not using the front fairing. I’m gonna cut the extension brackets out of it to raise rack to match the front rack. As you can see, I made a template out of paper. Gotta cut out 4 brackets. 011E304F-7438-40A0-8C98-83A4B7AC4A73.jpg

Rob, that's the predicament I'm in now as my MX has a factory rack and Yakima Tubes off that that add another 3-4" and I will need something to level off the front cab rack when I decide what to get, so I can carry a canoe across both. I was thinking of getting a foam block under the canoe off the rack and sinching down to secure to the rack, but might try to figure out a plan to move the Yakima's to the front rack and do something low lying on the MX.

72 Acres in the mountains south of Charlottesville VA. Wife's grandaddy grew up on the property and their cabin and family was wiped out by mudslide from Hurricane Camille. The new cabin has 4 bunks, an outhouse and a pigtail for a generator.

Although the pipeline is trying to come through our firing range:infantry:

Looks like a lot of modding going on with these. Are they not ready to go out of the box?

They are ready to go. The other guy bought a second one and modded it to fit his cap. I bought one and am chopping it up to fit my regular cab

I’m just showing you guys what I’m doing to make it fit a camper shell instead of buying the 6-700 prinsu rack. Both racks are still cheaper than one of those.

Thanks Christian  Seems @Matt.schaefer37 is moving in the right direction but I think your idea will lift things higher in the front to mate up nicely with the MX. I like the way with one on the cab and another on the cap you easily have one hell of a awning setup using a simple tarp, paracord and tent poles or even tree branches laying around. The biggest con I see with most of the expensive canopies is they are just not big enough. And if go bigger then you are $$$$$$ .

Off subject but I really do like the MX. I got a quote on the Leer 180 but I think the side windows on the MX are taller. I want windoors on both sides so I think that will be better. I wonder which one offers more interior headroom? The dealers don't know squat.

Judging by these the MX looks taller.
