On a 3rd gen that’d be easy! Tap into the cargo light. Would be super simple.

While I'm here. Add an access cab mod to the list. Nearly finished up earlier this morning. I still want to pick up a couple of brackets to attach the back plate, but it is pretty ridged without it. Hacked about 10in off the end for this fit.

Basically the exact same way! I think the only thing I did different was I didn't have the rivet nut tool so I just used JB weld with the rivet nuts instead. Didn't want to spend the money and storage space on a tool I would only use once. If the seal breaks Ill probably get one though and do it more properly. Though it is pretty strong.

This looks like a good rack. I am looking at Amzon for it and they list the ubox and hooke rd one. Which is the better one to get? Any suggestions of things to look for? There's a $20 price difference which I am not concerned about I just want to make sure and get the correct one. Thanks for any help admittedly I amlazy and am not going to read through 27 pages of this.

They are both the same rack. One has a cutout for the shark fin antenna and one does not.

As I am reading through ths thread I see everybody using the edge trim for the fairing and putting it tight against the cab. Anybody concerned it may still rub the paint?

Mine doesn’t vibrate anymore at all so I don’t see it ever rubbing through at least not soon anyway

Work gave me a $250 gift card for some extra shit I had done I figured why not :notsure:. I have read this entire thread and it has had some good info so I paid attenton. I never had really looked at one as I had use for one but not enough to justify at least $600 for one. This seems like a valid alternative and is practical

For those of you who have recently purchased this roof rack off Amazon. Does it come with the black hardware or is that extra?
Also, what are your thoughts on mounting a full-size tire on the roof? Do you think this can support 33s on 17s

What's the difference between these to on amazon?
