Well, I'm not saying what i did is perfect but it looks great and I haven't had any leaks through some pretty bad down pours, yet

If I can remember I will see if I can take a couple of pics in the daylight. The underside of the black trim piece is a little thick and conflicts with the bolt heads. The trim piece has a thin piece of steel running through the middle I just used a razor knife and skinned the rubber down to the steel piec and it cleared the bolt heads and went right back in place.

That's a bit scary! Have you seen the prices for that trim? For some reason Toyota enjoy being a ridiculous company.

I believe it's like $80 each. Yep they are proud of it. Anytime you do something to these trucks it is a commitment. If you think this is a little scary you should habe been with me the next day when i cut a 4" hole in the fender and drilled like 6 holes to install the snorkel.

Wife looked at me like I was nuts. 30+ years of body work it's just a fender. I didn't mess it up though

Yes, you are, man! Yes, you are! Why if you don't want it anymore and decide to remove it? Shit, I change my mind all the time. :)

If i don't want the rack I will remove it, seal the holes, and get new or used whole trim pieces and replace. If i don't want the snorkel, not going to happen, I'll get a new fender, paint it and install it. No biggie either way really. may be able to locate a front fender the correct color used for that matter.

How are y'all mounting traditional round or flat/aero crossbar amenities to these? I have Yakima and Thule accessories for bike mounts, kayak stackers, snow sports, etc with the standard mounts for the typical factory flat crossbar.
Are you custom fabbing mounts or is there a product? Or you just overland so hard that you only carry gun cases and fuel cans up top?

Received mine tonight. Box was in perfect condition, lights were included, powder coat is not perfect, but fine. Ordered it from Amazon and it arrived 4 days early, but product was not as advertised. Received original color hardware (instead of black) and back piece is full (no fin cut out). Haven't mounted it on my gen 2 Tacoma yet, so not sure how well it will fit against my useless antenna fin.20191207_181859.jpg 20191207_181939.jpg 20191207_182032.jpg 20191207_183546.jpg Screenshot_20191207-215404_Amazon Shopping.jpg

So ubox responded really quickly. I will give them that. They are sending out a whole new rack. The only thing they asked for was pictures of the box and the rack I have showing what is missing and the damage.

That’s all I guess I can ask for. I got it installed with the missing parts. It took about an hour to install. But I probably could have gotten it done faster if I had assembled the rack pre hand. I ended up having to take the whole thing apart to fit the mounting brackets.

hell I assembled min one piece at a time on the truck. I just kinda left everything loose until it was all togther then tightened her up. As long as it gets done is all that matters I just have really bad shoulders and back and didn't feel like lifting it up there by myself

It’s installed a crap ton of the “powder coat flaked off and as I was tightening everything up I could head it cracking the “powder coat” that is. Overall it’s a decent rack. But I think it would be better with raw materials to let the individual paint it themselves. One thing I will say is even though I do competitive powerlifting this thing is heavy being overhead. And I probably shouldn’t have but I did climb up on my roof at way more than it is rated for and stood on it with no flex. So that’s a plus.

So ubox emailed me back. They are out of stock of the racks and want to do a partial refund on my rack. What is your all’s thoughts. This is from their email.

I received the picture and checked it, and discussed your issue with my manager.
    Here is solution:
I wonder if you could cut the back piece by yourself to fit for your antenna, if so, I want to refund a partial amount to you as compensation.
Then reship the light and the emblem to help solve this issue, it will arrive you in 7-12 workdays.
    Is this acceptable for you?
    What'r your idea?

Waiting for your response soon to address this issue “

I would take the offer, but I'm also pretty cool with DIY and a bit impatient. Also depends on the discount. The cut would be fairly easy I think. especially if you have a dremel.

Wait. Hold on, I thought I was responding to someone else's comment

Are they suggesting you cut, drill, and paint a whole back panel yourself? Fuck that!
