And then there wouldn't be a ground on the red/yellow wire until I flipped to high beams. Ok I got it now

I had the same problem on my '01 taco, but figured out a simple fix..
Here's how our H4 plug is:
    9d272b50-b17d-4b6a-9e91-d2166b8f264a_zps_c8238233133db62e489e6d791c70c56e527cbfd0.jpg

    Pin 85-high beam ground(#3)
    Pin 86-Constant power (#1)
Pin 87- Positive to led light bars
And of course pin 30 was fused to battery power. NOT in the fuse box. Make sure the power is DIRECT to the battery terminal. At first I ran a power wire to the fuse box main power wire and it would "flicker" my led bar from some other power being drawn through it. I have an optima yellow top and that has side posts so I use that for ALL my accessories. Top posts are for starter and fuse box only.
Here's some pics of my plug wired up. Now keep in mind I have the wire colors swapped by accident. But it doesnt matter as long as you hook it up correctly. This setup is kinda sloppy, but it was a quick and easy install. I'm not worried at all about anything. The connections are super tight. I couldve used wire splices but I never trust those and had them get loose on me before. It might look ugly, but oh well it works thats all I care about. Maybe when I get bored one day I'll tear it all apart and re-do the wiring and run some nifty wire loom.

Thanks taco47001 for your way would have worked great, but I went with how ^ did it. Both are basically the same way, I just found this way easier. They work! It'll be nice to have these on dark empty roads

I can't take credit brotha as I just re-wired mine myself per the diagram. Bamatoy is the real hero in this thread, for that diagram.

Oh yeah he did. You just kind of explained it in stupid terms so I could understand haha. Thank Bamatoy! Hopefully this thread can help other people cause there really isn't a write up for this anywhere

Nice now to apply this same logic to a 2013 lol. I'm sure there is a thread for it but I can't find it.
