Hmmm for JUST tires, maybe not, but if your running lockers as well and some other stuff then yes.

It fills tires about twice as fast as other compressors and I usually end up helping everyone else air up since they are slower.

If you can find the dual on a group buy I would get one.

I feel like if I were to get a front locker and kill these tires off already I'd probably get myself into something way above what I should be doing

I've seen your thread on 35s. Very inspiring. Never thought I'd consider 35s especially for the kind of off-roading I do, but I can honestly say I might. That being said, will the dual tank ARB be a better investment up front, with the possibility of 35s and a "road shower" as well as a rear air locker?

Ya definitely especially if you plan to get 35s and grow it’s use. You won’t be disappointed in the dual, you might be with the single in the long run.

How would I go about mounting the compressor under my hood? I have a Sport 4wd. I've seen guys mount it in their bed compartments but I have a rack and retrax bed cover so it would be a little humbug to mount it back there but not the end of the world

Mine is under the hood. I used the Slee 2nd gen virtical mounting kit with a modified bracket. A couple places make a mounting bracket that sits in the back passenger side of the engine bay.

I have a Sport which comes with an extra/different part than the off-road so that may not be an option for me

I saw a YouTube video of a science professor looking dude that had all the "bro upgrades" and toys and he had this mount too, unsurprisingly. Looked like he was loving life at his camp spot but yeah I don't know if $200 on a piece of metal I could fan myself is worth it.

Especially if you're being eaten alive by hungry skeeters. The Staun deflators take a minute to walk around installing, another minute or so to let the air out (while you're sitting in the cab skeeter free) and then a minute to remove. They automatically stop at the pressures you've preset.

I thought I read some where that it has to do with our braking system or something. Not sure. I just know it's in the way of trying to put a compressor there.

Edit: Does anyone else know what this is for? I'm just guessing that it has something to do with the crawl mode. But I really don't know.

33" tires is the tippy top max for what the Vair 88 is rated at. But it's also very cheap compared to the 100% duty cycle ARB and ones that can work with larger off road tires. I got the 88 knowing that eventually I'll upgrade it if I go larger than 33" (most peeps never will) or want onboard air. Until then, it's very compact and does the job for under $100. Love it.

I have these as well, had them for about 16 years. Mine are set at 12 psi. Put em on walk away and when you don't hear the hissing air anymore time to off-road!

Not if it's a Sport. They don't have a "Crawl" mode
