Obviously, people seem to prefer hoops on their front bumpers. What, besides looks, do you guys think the hoop does for you off-road? Any actual experiences where it came in handy?

For those of you that don't have hoops, do you wish you had one? Every had an experience where you would have liked one?

I think it looks cleaner without hoops.. however the hoops serve a purpose.... to protect your lights a grill!

I suppose it does, but not from a stick pointed straight at you. I wonder how important it really is, which is why I posted. I ride overgrown trails all the time with a stock bumper and have never had an issue.

    No hoop = clean
Hoops = more functional & more "get out of my way" look

I wonder same as the OP. Is there a point to the hoop when there are tow points also?

I've used my hoops to slide past trees, push branches out of the way, etc. It's nice having additional protection.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I prefer full hoop and don't regret it one day. More protection off roar when having to do tight switch backs, or use your bumper to help winch off something.

Non-off road apps are as common as trying to fit into tight parking spots. If one of your buddies with a tire carrier on the back wants to double park on you, it makes it much easier. They just back up and bump it. Or when you're working on the truck, it gives you a pull up bar from the ground.

Grill hoop looks sick as hell. Headlight hoops ruin the whole thing and make it look shitty
