So tie rods are brand new. The only issue I could think with them is when I was putting the ECGS bushing in that I suspended the knuckle by tiying it up with wire. When I was putting it back I realized that it was also kinda resting on the OTRE. This wouldn't do anything would it? I checked the OTRE and it seemed pretty stiff still.

Brakes should be on correct. I didn't mess with them except when I replaced everything before. Lugs are tight because...I forgot to tighten them and drove off and then suddenly remembered about 5 miles from home.

I took the skid plate off. Noise is loud and very present. At this point the skid has nothing to do with it.

Here is a video. Around 20-25 second in is a good example and again around 30 seconds in:

Well, I have given up. Taking The Dark Knight in to the shop tomorrow. I figure they are going to tell me it is some sort of expensive job.

Could the noise be coming from the steering rack guide? Mine is a 2003 so it should have the updated guide, but do those ones wear out as well?

did you check the engine or trans mounts? went back and heard the first video, gets louder when you move "away" from the suspension towards the middle of the truck.

Yeah it does kind seem like it is in the middle when I had my wife move the wheels while I was under. There is a light clicking from the steering column, but I don't know if either noises are what I am hearing when driving.

I have not checked mounts. I just watched the beginning of Timmah!'s video on mounts so I will hopefully try that tonight.

Edit: I just checked the engine mounts by revving the engine while breaking. The whole truck including the engine seems to jump a bit when switching in between R and D. But once in each gear the engine is barely moving when revving, if that makes sense. So if it is in R and I put it in D, the first time I hit the gas the whole car kind lurches forward and the engine rises a bit, but then while in D with continuous revving it is pretty still.

Here is a vid. Can't really see any movement which I guess is a good thing, but you can hear the click of me shifting gears and then any screen movement is the truck lurching either forwards or backwards.

Well, good news and bad news.
Good news is sound is fixed and nothing major. It was loose sway bar links. I swear I checked them, pretty sure I actually checked twice, but I guess not.
Cue someone telling me to get rid of my sway bar.

Bad news is only that I had to pay for that.

Thanks for all the help and really glad I didn't have to install new control arms or engine mounts.

I mean it was way more than I wanted to pay for someone to tighten a couple easy to reach nuts, but my bad for apparently not getting them to spec. And now I have a little piece of mind. Story of my life.

They usually spin and there’s a flat or hex hole that you have to hold them in place with. That might’ve been why you couldn’t get them tight all the way

If the link cushions are all smashed and if it were my truck, I would consider installing Genuine Toyota Parts.

At $8 each, don't cha' know, and there are four of them.

    Ouch!

But it's better for me than busting a link by using the cushions from Energy Suspension.

The bushings? Post 2000 trucks don’t have sway bar end link bushings sadly. The sway bar itself does have two rubber bushing type things

Links and bushings are all brand spanking new. Just apparently not torqued down or loosened after installing the ECGS bushing.
