    I'd reckon the Tacoma driver is more than OK - probably in a 3rd gen now.

    Yikes! Hope the were OK. I'm always looking in my rearview in those situations hoping no one does that. It happened to me in my 2004 Tacoma but not at that speed. It really feels helpless when you see someone bearing down on you.

    Whenever traffic stops suddenly in front of me, or I'm stopped and traffic behind me is way back. I put on my 4 way flashers. It's saved me more than a few times.

    It is so important to make sure you are visible. Especially when changing from a fast moving freeway to slower traffic on the same road.

    Dog hair, lost happy meal parts from Grandkids....
    Flashers, pump my brake to flash the lights(too lazy to reach for the 4 ways sometimes) on my motorcycle is weave and flash my brake lites till I get a "buffer" car stopped behind me..

    I do that also during hard braking, gives an extra alert to pay attention . It's mostly for my own sake since I don't want to be chaging the rear bumper lol
