    And yes, as of now, you have to have a subscription for the key fob to do the remote start. So if you have a 2018, it might still do it if you are in your 10 year period. Seems like 2021 and newer all come with a 10 year trial. But ultimately, if you plan on owning your truck and using this feature past 3-10 years, get ready to pay to be able to use your fob for remote start.

    Here is an interesting update though, seems like Toyota realized people are a little upset having to "subscribe" to a feature like this, so they are now claiming they didn't know.... yeah, I'd believe that...

    my 2021 OR only had 1 year subscriptions. First year free, just had to pay to reup. Both remote connect and safety connect.

    According to the Toyota connected services website, only the premium audio option for the 2021 Tacoma with the 6AT has service connect. It’s is not available on the standard audio package or 6MT trucks.
