I searched and couldnt find anything, maybe im not searching right key words.

When I got my 16 tacoma it never made any horn/beeps noises when I unlocked and locked the car. A few months passed and now it does the 2 beeps at unlock and the 1 beep at lock when I use the door handle.

Anyone know how to silence this or turn off :)

I can't turn mine off and it's killing me and my neighbours when I get home late or leave early. To the point I want to cut the horn completely out.

The sound horn is a locking feature. When you lock your car with the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter, your horn beeps as confirmation that your vehicle is locked. If you find the sound horn annoying or disruptive, you can disable it in one of the following ways.

    1. If your car comes equipped with the electronic vehicle information center (EVIC) system, simply use that system to disable the sound horn.

    2. If your car does not come equipped with the EVIC system, you can disable the sound horn with your key fob. To do this, press and hold the lock button on your key fob for at least four seconds. Then, while still holding down the lock button, press and hold the panic button. Release both buttons, and the sound horn will be disabled. To enable the sound horn again, simply repeat this process.

This is what I got for the 2013 model. They do'the stray to much on these aspects so what works for one year also works for others.
How to disable the annoying unlock/lock beep. Worked on my 2013. Heard it works for most years.
    u/BasementSea
Step one: Keep driver side door open. Insert key into ignition and take out.
Step two: Put key back in ignition w/in five seconds. .
step three: Turn to the "on" position, not the acc position and wait 10 seconds.
Step four: click the "lock" or "unlock" twice as soon as the key is in the "on" position. You should here one continous beep for about a second.
Step five: Take key out. Get out of truck. Shut door. Try your keyless entry button. You should get no beep but still see the parking lights flash.

Could you put breaks between each step?

The dealer or get your own obll with tech stream maybe can help turn it off. I dont know enough abort that to help.
There are plenty of cheap versions online or go through some threads down in the products disscused in this thread after searching obll on here

I've tried this several times in the past. If you read it carefully it isn't intuitive at all.
Observe how it says wait ten seconds. Then the next step says immediately after going into the on position.
One says after on position wait ten seconds.
Next it contradicts that and says immediately after turning key to "on".

    It's a messed up procedure.
How come nobody has clarified this ?

I wish Toyota would take the ball in their own court when they are unsure of something. Take the vehicle attempt to do what they aren't sure they can or not. Instead of insisting one pay whether it works or not. Certainly I'd pay for a garanteed result. Why do they insist one pay when they don't even know if it works. ?

All with driver door open i assume
    says key in and out,
then key in with waiting period,
turn to on with waiting period, (here is where its unclear), previous step is ignored with this instruction, so do you wait after you turn to on or immediately click lock or unlock on the remote twice then hear long beap after turning to on.
    Take key out.

I read on one site that the procedure has to be accomplished in under 40 seconds. I have no idea if that is true.

    Thank you
I tried this for a week straight in April
    Then focused on other upgrades.
Now back to the beeps r us Japanese game and quite honestly it's incredibly redundant and annoying
