Have a 2023 TRD OR. I have a 2 remote fobs with little mechanical key that slide out of fobs and, 1 large mechanical key When I use the large mechanical key in the driver's door lock to unlock the door, the horn blares. Will not stop until I touch a button on the fob.
Is there any way to unlock the door with the large key without the horn blaring?

Since the Taco has an alarm system with FOB that's going to be a big NO.

EDIT: Verified in my 2005 that has a RS3200 system (a Toyota VIP system) and unlocking with key does not make alarm sound at unlock and door open.

    OK thanks.
Wonder why they bothered putting a lock in the door. I'd rather have a remote tailgate.

Verify that indeed is a "Toyota" alarm system and not an aftermarket FOB the dealer installed.

It's a brand new truck with Toyota fobs and Toyota extra (large) metal key (no chip).

There's a remote unlock without alarm. And then there's the Toyota Alarm, and also an aftermarket alarm connected to the vehicle with remote unlock. Vehicle window sticker might show some info, but dealer would be best source of what you have.

I thought the large key was intended to be for the tailgate not the door. The small key in the fob to be for emergency access to the cab incase of a dead battery in the fob. Then even a dead fob can be used to start if held on the PTS button.

Or maybe I got it all wrong and should go read the manual.

I tried the manual but it's not very clear.
    Thanks to you both.
