I have no working horn on my 2002 Tacoma base 4WD. I was able to remove the center horn in front of the radiator - tests dead. BUT, there's no wires to the 2nd horn (behind the passenger headlight). Yes, there was a lite accident involving the front right corner. Before I pull the grill & headlights, & parking lights, & .....

Can anyone tell me where the wires come from that connect to the horn that is behind the passenger (LHD) headlamp? I've followed the wire harness by touch & feel no signs of a trapped wire. The radiator horn, the wire just drops straight down from the harness to the bottom of the horn, but no similar is obvious to the horn behind the headlight w/o disassembling it all.

    Thanks for any shared experience.

Interesting I have no Horn behind the right head light .

I have one to the left of the right head light on the radiator support.

The wires come up from the bottom left

17 year old truck I have no idea what might have been changed

For what it is worth my EWD only shows one horn

    Then I have a 2000 with a 3.4

    Things must have changed

Maybe there's supposed to be a jumper from horn to horn, they're wired in series?
Maybe the wiring comes up below, from somewhere down around the low signal lamp? (Doesn't make sense, but...)

    Buhler?...., Buhler?

    Reserected from the dead.
I can't remember what year Toyota went to 2 horns. My 98 only had 1, my 04 has 2.

Wires to both horns drop down from the harness on the left side of the core support.

Dual horns started with the 01-04

There is a jumper wire between the horns. Harness plugs into one and then there's one wire that goes to the second horn.

When I upgraded to the 01-04 horn, all I had to do was run that one wire to the second horn.

EWD for 2003 shows that - a black wire between two horns. BTW, they are wired in parallel not in series. I did upgrade horn to my 95, which had a "beep beep" moped type single horn. Because I put hons behind front bumper (one on each side) I had to do mo wires, but the concept is the same. 15A fuse handles dual horn well.

Original horn wire (black) and ground extended to power new horns in new locations

I have replaced these junk HF cheapo horns (they rusted through in 3 years) with FIAMM set and so far the are holding up.

This makes sense to me, now I know what to do.
Hate having no horn after someone almost broadsided me the other day where I learned I had no horn! Fortunately my reflexes were quick.

    Thanks everyone for the help!

Aha you guys gotta step up your game. I'm running four 1980's Cadillac DeVille 4 note horns in my truck along the stock Tacoma horn for a total of 5 horns. I mourned it in the valence under the grille.

I originally hooked it up to the stock horn circuit but these drew so much power it kept burning out the breaker. I had to run a separate relay to handle the high amperage.

I cut off the Cadillac mounting bracket and welded the horns to a flat stock of steel and painted it black. It grounds to the frame so it just needs the positive wire connections.

Update. My horn wasn't working because the clock spring was bad. Replaced that & now I have one horn. Need to run a wire to the second horn - it's just flat MIA. The truck had an accident in the past in the front right corner, I guess that wire was a casualty of the accident although I see absolutely no sign of it at all. Odd.
