How can I stop my horn from honking every time I lock and unlock my truck from my remote? It is driving me crazy!

I searched through the manuals that came with the truck and came up empty. I am sure it is just a quick fix.

I appreciate any help and so do my neighbors!

anybody test this to confirm? will this work with trucks that don't have the factory alarm?

I don't have the factory alarm, but would like to have the sound notification when I lock the doors

i have the 2nd gen with the upgraded security system, and theres a little black thing under my dash that has a blue led light on it, and there is a small button on the back of that. when i hold the button for 4-5 seconds and when the light goes off, it is enabled, and when the light goes on, it is disabled. when disabled the light is always on and when enabled the light blinks when it is armed. hope this helps...

Well, sorry to say but neither of those steps worked. I tried at least a dozen times and nothing.
Just got frustrated and ended up going to my dealer and the alarm guy took care of it real fast. He had to put the key in and take it out and press the black button on the LED alarm several times. I couldn't keep up with him.
Best advice for anyone who wants to stop their car from honking every time you lock/unlock your truck is to just take it into the dealer.
