2017 Tacoma. Does the horn always honk repeatedly, like an alarm, when you disconnect, then reconnect the negative battery terminal? I stopped it by pressing either the lock or unlock button on the remote, but that was lucky SWAG. Is that the only way?

No but I had just installed a trailer wiring harness, aftermarket.

it’s possible you locked the car? If you reconnect your battery under your hood with the car locked and it doesn’t think the hood is supposed to be open, the alarm will trigger when you reconnect the power.

Keeping your car unlocked and hood open, disconnect the battery and reconnect. See if it repeats.

Last time my horn went nuts was when I leaned on the key fob in my pocket.

Haven't unhooked the battery on the Taco yet but this was normal on my 4Runner, part of the alarm for some reason.

Seems back to normal now. Signals including trailer seem right.

i'm pretty sure the truck was unlocked. Will check see if I get a repeat tomorrow.

I should clarify no alarm (as far as I know) except the panic button on the back of the remote keyless entry fob. It's a fairly new truck.

Guys... I was working on my truck the other day and went in for lunch...left the hood down, but "unlatched".... I locked her with the remote..... Had lunch.... came back out and lifted the hood... Holy shit.... I damn near had a heart attack when the horn went off.... I had to hit the remote to shut it up.... I shit myself...!! I cannot figure how the truck knows if I lift the hood or not... I see no switch for that.. Go figure..!!
