Well, I joined the "It will buff out crew". Driving home around 45mph when someone decided to backout on the the main road. I didn't get a chance to stop and they didn't get a chance to accelerate. If anyone wants to know how good the C4 bumpers @C4 Fabrication hold up here is a few pictures after the chaos. The truck still turned on and there was no leaks or damage past the bumper, hood, fenders, grille, airbags that deployed, and I believe the skid plate got bent. The truck drives straight and doesn't rub anywhere. All the lines past the fenders are still straight. I wonder if they will total the truck, since all the airbags except for the passenger airbag deployed.

... Now hold your breath because this was a wreck at 45mph.

...P.S For those wanting to know. PD did find the driver of the truck, drunk and at fault. 20161226_234328.jpg 20161226_234317.jpg 20161226_233100.jpg 20161226_233052.jpg

Yeah, thanks to the C4 bumper that took 80% (no science to the number) of the damage. Just wish the airbags hadn't deployed so it could have been an easy fix

Yeah seeing the truck busted up hurt more than the wreck. If it's totaled I have to figure out what to replace it with. I still have a lot of parta that needed to go on before this happened. Hopefully it can be fixed. Aside from the airbags everything seemed cosmetic

LOL that was a tought. Plus, it helps that my brother in law owns a collision repair shop. He suggested keeping it and going full race truck. :drevil:

Damn.... an impact that hard detonating most of the Airbags likely going to tweak the frame with that solid plate bumper. Sad to another great build in this condition. Glad the truck held up and you're safe. If that's one of those F150's with the alum beds, it seemes like it held up too. Shame the bonehead driver was intoxicated causing this.

Glad to hear no one was hurt, but get yourself check out anyway. Injuries from this kind of thing have a nasty habit of showing themselves several days later. I know this from experience.

I would also not assume there is no damage past the front clip, 45mph is a significant hit. The energy from the hit will have traveled through the entire length of frame, cab and bed. I recommend getting it throughly inspected, and I don't mean by his insurance.

I too would jump at the chance at buying it back if totaled as long as the engine, trans, transfer case, and drive lines checkout. Possibly making it a dedicated trail rig.

    Good luck.

Dammit man I love everything about this truck! Im sure if worse comes to worse you can take off the front and stuff right? Atleast you had that bumper on, I agree with some of the others...if they total it, buy it out. You built it right and it shows.
