Horrible smell in 2017 DCSB

Guys I need help Over the last couple of weeks my truck has developed a horrible smell in the cab. Can only smell it on the inside and hits you as soon as you open the door. The smell is hard to scribe... smells like old, wet Carolina clay if that makes any sense. I have checked the truck all over and can not find a leak, carpets not wet, read window... also nothing "died" in it.

Any ideas would be helpful.

 

You probably have a leak. I had a leak and it smelled like a locker room. It was the third brake light on mine.

 

Is the smell musty? Did you check the cabin air filter?

 

Any condensation on the inside of the windshield?

 

Did you valet the truck like Seinfeld did..?

Double check the carpet in the back and the headliner by where the third brake light is; sometimes that seal leaks. Also check the cabin filter (behind the glove box) because there are cases of rodents crawling up there and dying.

Could be you got a dead mouse in the Ventilation System somewhere. Just a guess

Edit nvm. If it smells like Carolina clay is probably just a water leak and mildew. Check the 3rd brake light. If it smelled like manure, it’s the evap, if t smelled like decomp it’s a dead rodent.
