Not a huge fan of this genre but I saw “A Quiet Place” recently and thought it was pretty good.

Try watching Oldboy. Not the American remake but the original Korean film with subtitles. You're not going to be okay.

I watched them film this one late night after a party down the street. It was the scene when the Clown was pounding on the front door freaked me out:annoyed:. Almost rented that house once!

yikes.jpg you remember this if you see it after a high school drinking party.. trust me

I like the SCREAM character as portrayed in Keene Ivory Wayans "SCARY MOVIE" (2000). It was a riot!

I went into watching "Bone Tomahawk" under the assumption that it was a good Western - which it is. It turned into something else. I have been haunted by what it turned into ever since. I'm just starting to get over it like 4 months later.

    So yeah! Highly recommended!

The Cube....haven't watched it in years but I remember it creeping me out big time.

Takes place entirely in a cube floating in outer space or something like that...has multiple rooms all full of deadly traps. Guy wakes up in there and has to find his "way out". At least that's the plot I remember, I'll have to go back and watch it. Sci-Fi horror. Was originally made in the 90's but there's a remake coming out in the near future I hear.

I love horror films, of all varieties (suspense, thriller, gore), albeit i'm partial to satanic/demonic stuff ;-) :headbang:
Besides the classics, you should check out 'It Follows'

I agree with the original "Halloween" as having set the bar for this genre, but I am a big fan of "The Blair Witch Project" (1999). In my opinion, Blair Witch project was so great for what it didn't show, so many movies saturate the viewer with images, while this movie would only show at times, the depth and width of the light from a video recorder. We had to imagine what was making those sounds, leaving the rock piles, making those stick shapes in the trees and taking Josh then bring back his body parts. The movie had great acting, which made it feel real and was key to the success of the film. It looks easy to make, but this is why it's so realistic. Knowing what to leave out, having open ends that the viewer must figure out and interpret.

I remember "The Cell" being a frightening movie as well, also a 90s sci-fi horror flick
