    Went to horsepasture today and took the pups swimming again. Luckily you can still get all the way down to the water even with that closure!

    Found a new entrance that i dont guess ive been up before. After visiting the new overlook they built at sassafrass mt, i cam back out on 178 and saw an entrance with a gate that was open.

    Which was odd because every indication from the signs posted, it should have been closed. I didn't go up in it because the sign stated you had to have a current sc fishing hunting license. Which I believe is the same for mustergrounds.

    The gate closings look to be the same as mustergrounds. During hunting season only.
    Gonna explore this when it's legal.

    Ended up bombing thru HP road down to Cleo Chapman gate, witch is closed again.
    Every trail is closed from Rocky bottom.
    In and out the same way.

    Found a cool little spur that I hadn't been on before.

    According to what I'm seeing, some of the other roads with green gates should be open now. I thought they changed it to year around access a couple years ago.

    The gate at Cleo Chapman to get back out on the highway has been closed both times ive been I've recently. Which it should not be.

    I think there was some trail damage down that way I read, but it should be open and it's not.

    So considering the main trail is the only open area. There are limited camping spots.
    One is in the video above in the clearing.

    The other is on a left spur track when you enter from Rocky bottom. There's wood up there now and signs posted that it's ok to harvest wood now.


    Oh, I forgot. I never made it that far down but there is a pretty good campsite at a creek crossing with a bridge as well.

    Not the creek crossing with no bridge, that road is closed. But there should be one with a wooden bridge you can drive across that holds 5-6 vehicles.

    I also bombed thru it pretty fast @Daria style. So I might have missed some stuff.
    I was kinda pissed that I had to turn around and go out the way I came in.

    Alright thanks for the information. I'm pretty sure I know the creek crossing you're talking about. I was there in April and I remember a big clearing right past the bridge and creek crossing, it spurred off right before the main overlook if you're coming from highway 11 entrance. Hopefully we can find a spot :fingerscrossed:

    I caught the biggest rainbow trout in that tiny creek. Couldn't have been no wider than a sidewalk. 9 incher. stop by somewhere and pick you up some dull yellow "trout magnets". You will slay em.

    It was a fun ride in the rain. I almost always enter from that side. There's really like only 2 lookouts, foggy as he'll, couldn't see chit today.

    That is awesome! I camped out there Saturday night and watched the sunset at Jumping off Rock. Shame I didn't see this beauty.

    Unfortunately the lake access is closed.

    I did find a campsite that takes 3-4 minutes of offroading to get to, but otherwise, super tame out there as usual.
