Looking at replacing heater and radhoses on my 2008 Tacoma. The hoses appear to be stock/factory. That they are 12 years old says they have lasted well. My "feeling" is that any third party after market hoses don't last that long. Am I imagining wrong? Factory parts as so much more expensive and for hard to reach hoses I don't want to have to redo the work sooner than is necessary/ Opinions?

Up to you, personally if it aint broke, don't fix it. I work on Toyotas since 2005, they are robust and last the life of the truck.

Unless you see crustys coming out the end near the clamps, I would personally just re-use them. But I 100% get where you're coming from.

Thanks for the comment and perspective on stock hoses. The question is tied to the heater bypass pipe that in stock is made of plastic. They sometimes fail in leaking at possible worst time and place. So I wanted to replace the pipe and wondering about difficult to reach hoses. Just wondered if stock is much better than third party companies. The Russian truck tires in the Ukraine failed as the Chinese tires were not up to the job.

Treat hoses like regular maintenance. After 10 or more years just replace them. You gain nothing by waiting for them to fail. You don’t save any $$ by waiting for them to fail and then replacing them. And when they do fail I guarantee it will be at a time and place that will ruin your day or week.
Just replace them with oem hoses. The cost ain’t much. When you look at the cost over 10 years it’s barely a penny a day.

You have the same idea as me. For the condition of factory hoses they seem to last a bit better than a third party supplier. The only thing in Canada just to replace heater and rad and a replacement for a plastic by pass it will cost me about $600 plus Canadian Dollars or about $800 USA dollars. A bit much but not to have to do them for another 12 years sounds good. any opinions on using silicon hoses? Evidently they may loose coolant by evaperation thru the hoses so you need to check up on the level of the antifreeze. Cost for them is more how do they last I wonder?
