Hot dip galvanizing sliders

Do you guys think it would hold up

 

Maybe gold zinc chromate like metal cloak does with jeep control arms.

 

What is this can you please tell

 

Have them sandblasted first.

 

Like any finish it solely depends on your use, the weather, road salt and treatments and care.
If strictly a grocery getter I think if prepped and applied professionally, it can last if cared for properly and babied.
The issue comes when and even if there is a minor scuff. It would be hard to keep up with and close to impossible to repair. Rust is a bitch to manage.
I would assume with the weather you forge in MN and the road treatment it would be a chore to maintain.

Also note hot dipped galvanize is sort of a matte finish, and there is also electro galvanized which is more shiny.

Galvanizing is probably the most corrosion resistant coating out there. If the coating is uncompromised it would remain rust free for many years. For touch ups the Eastwood Company used to make an aerosol coating called cold galvanize. I think it's basically a silver paint with a lot of zinc solids suspended in it. If they don't make it anymore someone else may.
