    Thanks for the current status. It would be shocking and revolting to see your house catch fire due to bad wiring. Hopefully the party that did the work didn't offer too much resistance to fix the problem. Now you can relax, maybe even meditate...ohm. :rolleyes:

    Good to hear, I've seen ac breakers wear out and trip like yours did. First time years ago, I thought I needed a new ac unit. It was a hot friday night, so I tried the stove breaker on a whim. Viola the ac started right up and ran another 10yrs.

    The double pole switch is acts as a service disconnect for the water heater if it needs to be serviced, rather than the breaker. For safety of the technician working on the equipment, must be with 5-6 ft of the equipment. Code requirement in some areas. Standard 240v water heaters need at least 10 gauge wire circuit. Glad you figured it out.

    I’m confused. If it’s a “hot water heater” does that mean that the waters already hot ? I’m just kidding. I’m not normally a smart ass. I just always giggle when I hear someone call a water heater a hot water heater. Sorry !
