Hot Wheels

Another custom from my buddy. This was/is the hot wheels way to fast that had the two motors up front. Cut the front motor and base off, changed the back motor, added real riders and drilled out the holes in the rims.

Curious about some of the Hot Wheels I have. I am not really a collector of Hot Wheels but I have 30 or 40 I have picked up over the years. Recently I was at the Canfield (Ohio)swap meet and I ran across a guy with Hot Wheels 55 Chevy Gassers and I about busted out laughing when he said he was asking $250 for each of the 55s he had. Said they were special releases. Also had the 65 Comet Gasser he wanted $75. I was thinking $20 was fair but had no idea these were going for that price. Needless to say I passed. I do collect the Gassers.
I have a few that are from the early 1980s that I maybe selling off and was curious if they are worth anything. Maybe you guys would know. I will attach pictures of them.

 

Thanks man. Looked for a while on eBay for them. Really paid out my ass for a couple of em, like 20-25 bucks......they were so cool, had to have them.

 

I’m sure someone here can help ya. I just buy the ones I like , Toyotas and cool muscle cars also some fire engines.

I started putting my Matchbox/Hot Wheels trucks in a drawer in my tool box. Then had to clear another drawer for more, and another... They took over the whole tool box. LOL.

 

Some do get really good money. If it’s from a dinner anniversary, collectors edition, treasure hunt, liberty promotions, and just straight up customs. $250 isn’t crazy for a treasure hunt. Convention cars are limited usually have so many per color. Pink is usually the most limited.
