Hot Wheels

Yes those are model kits in back ground. I have over 500. Been building them for 50 years. I have about 35 Johann kits which are going for alot these days but bought them when they were new. The oldest was built in 1970 that I still have. Here is another pics of some of my Hot Wheels. The Snake and Mongoose were releases from around 1990. The Camaro is mid 90s and the Chevelle was covered with decals and I removed some of them.

 

Bought this beach bomb cheap at the last show I went to. Was going to give it to my buddy to paint and put some real riders on it but after cleaning all the dirt off I might just leave it alone. Bad paint missing a surfboard and bent front wheel.

 

Also pick up a few original vw redlines. Little ruff paint but sunroof works on all 3.

 

These 6 are in tuff shape. Bad paint, bent or missing wheels, broken windshields, broke or missing sunroofs. Price was cheap for the six so I bought them too. Save for a restore or complete custom at a later date.

 

I think it looks cool like that. Maybe just replace the axle so it's a roller. I have a couple old ones that I got just because I liked the patina.

 

'72 Mustang. Had to get it. Used to have a '73 Mach 1 metallic pewter. Miss that car. Been gone about 20 years now...

 

Hot Wheels. Have a couple of the black.

Here is a few more Hot Wheels in my collection. These are 8-10 years old. I collect anything related to drag racing. I also have the original silver Corvette funny car somewhere. These pics were taken in my garage which has become a overflow area for these. I have a bedroom full of this stuff upstairs. 40 + years of collecting. I have cut way back but just added Big Foot which is posted on this page this weekend. I found it at Summit Racing.

 

Ok RLMoody I have a few questions for you. In the first pic, what is the white car in the background? And in the second pic could I ask for a front and back pic. of that thunderbolt? Those two cars look pretty sweet!!

 

The white 70 Camaro is Bruce Larsons USA 1 funny car. The T Bolts are back in the case. Ill tease you with a couple more pics. Im saving my favorite for last in my next posting.

Space Shuttle External Fuel Tank

 

being in Alabama you don't even think of something like that as odd lol, especially here in Huntsville.

now the question is....what did you think it was?

 

And growing up with a Science Teacher Mother you basically have to know.

For this tank they wanted to move it onshore to Keystone Heights but once they got it off the barge they realized raising all the traffic lights, power lines etc. etc. the cost would be far too high so here she sits. I guess it will sit here until it rust into nothing but scrap.

 

Up here in Fremont NH you definitely don’t see something like that every day! Didn’t know what it was to be honest. On my phone I wasn’t sure if it was really in the background and just looked big because of a small Hot Wheels car in front of it or photo shopped in the picture. Of course when you say what it is it looks more obvious now but cool picture anyway!
