Happy New Year

 

One my buddy made. Didn’t come out in the picture that great. It’s flat black on top and charcoal on the sides. Cut of the single stinger and added dual tips.

 

Making a cup of coffee this morning thinking it’s not just the new year it’s also Hot Wheels Wednesday! That’s a great picture!!

Another custom bug he made. Not sure what cars he stole the engine and interior from.

M2 bug you get to choose the wheels. Even comes with a lift. Wife put this one in my Christmas stocking. Have a few now in different colors. Not sure what I’m going to do with these.

 

I think this was a mystery car from a few years back

 

Just came in the mail today. Remembered it after seeing RLMOODYs El Camino.

I don’t think I can either! There is another one I’d like to get. Don’t remember if it was an old truck or blazer with the trailer and old wooden boat.

 

Leaving them carded is fine if they are ever worth anything but most will never have much value. I have been collecting since the early 80s and have only bought pieces because I liked them and very few are carded now. The only Hot Wheels Ive seen that have any real value have been the first releases in the late 60s. I took a hammer to most of mine when I was 7 or 8 so they would look like they were wreaked. I could kick myself in the ass for doing that now. Newer releases are inflated in value to drive up sales. See what they are worth in 10 years. I remember I had a 1/43 die-cast Alan Kulwicki Thunder bird from 1993. When he died the value shot up to $220. I sold it 5 years later and had trouble getting $20. I don't believe in current listings. Sell it now if you do.

Some spots I shoot get a bit dicey depending on what time of day haha. The threat for this shot was joggers

Indeed I'd like to have 12 shots by the middle of the year. That'll give me time to edit a bit more and send them off to have a calendar made.

 

How about something a little different. The 40 Plymouth was a stock build 7 or 8 years ago that I had done. Liked the car but it was boring. I gutted it recently and ditched the flat 6 for a blown 426 Hemi and put headers, a straight axle and nice tires and wheels on it. Its one of my favorites now. The other car is a 50 Olds Rocket 88 that was a bone stock kit before it was given the Gasser treatment. It also now has a blown 455. A fresh sharpie works great for tinting windows.
