There is 2 totes of stuff I cant get to until spring. This should be the last of the garage stuff going. The larger ones are models that I built. The Curtis Turner 99 car is metal that I picked up when Napa had a promotion going with Nascar 20+ years ago. The 11 Ned Jarrett car I had shown earlier was apart of the same promotion. The 36 car is a Hot Wheels. The Harry Gant mug and car I picked up during his farewell tour in 1994. I was a Davey Allison fan to and had just built that kit when he died. I put it back in the model box it came in back in 1993 and it is still perfect. Those decals usually fade over time. The 71 Buddy Baker Charger was a Polar Lights kit that looked like crap when I took it out of the box. I took a stock Monogram Charger kit and did that build. The K2 car was a early Dale Earnhardt car. The spider that left that web must have been a Nascar fan. I built those display cases out of scrap wood they were throwing out when they built my house 20 years ago. I picked up the plexiglass at a yard sale. They were old 18 x 24 picture frames I got for a couple dollars and the grey foam was packing material from work. At one time they ringed my garage before I started letting this stuff go.
I know you guys are into this stuff to.
A word of advice is collect what you like and set a limit to how much you keep. It will get out of hand after awhile and you will wonder why you have so much. I see guys just packing it away in totes. That is crazy. 10 years ago I decided one room of stuff is enough. If I bought something then something went to the garage to be sold. I slowed it down after that.

Really good work on the models! Especially the decal placement and paint. I used to love building when I was a kid. On my 11th birthday I received 25 models and to this day I don't know what got into my Dad buying all those but I sure was happy as hell that year!

I have over 300. The oldest I put together in 1977. I seldom do a build out of the box. I do the bare metal foil, automotive paints and so on. I used to have a junk yard in the basement until I sold that. I still have a huge supply of parts for kits that I raid all the time. I do the flea markets, auctions and yard sales for most of my kits. I only buy new kits when there is something that I really want. They cost to much now.
I am a automotive artist and to me it is another outlet for creativity.

This is that antique toy show I was talking about earlier. The spring one is the better one. Lots of toys. It always amazes me how many people pay the $25 early admission fee to get in to it.

I have the same Bug in the same color minus the decals. I couldn't remember how old it was but yours gives me an idea on that now.

20180415_162109.jpgBelieve it or not this is the source of my toyota pickup obsession from a young age. I believe it was towing something possibly a boat or a cement mixer. I'm a carpenter who works on water in boats now. This toy pretty much directed my life.

I picked up another great Matchbox at the Oakland sale today for $2. The '64 Pontiac GP Sports Coupe. Its in perfect condition like it's never been played with. The beat-up one is mine that I received in '67 when I was 6 years old and I drove it like I stole it as you can see. The one I got today even still has the trailer hitch!
