Back when I was collecting the dune buggies and buses I was looking for one but couldn’t find one. Just looked and yeah they are asking a lot.

Two 62 Impala bubble tops. These were both built at same time. Both same colors, One is stock and the other is not. The 1/64s are my recent attempts to swap out wheels on these smaller cars. These are both M2s and not hard to make a switch. Body's screw together so they come apart easy. Only problem was axles on replacement wheels were to short and I had to use a larger one which met having to drill the holes out larger. Racing Champions are not to bad but Hot Wheels are a pain to swap. Both of the M2s had white walls with no hubcaps previously.dec 20 pics 028.jpg dec20 pics 151.jpg dec20 pics 153.jpg real ryders 044.jpg real ryders 037.jpg

Amazing how much better some of these cars look with a simple wheel swap.

That was really neat to watch. Got some ideas with the 1/64s.
    1/24s are still easier though.
I taught myself all kinds of tricks with those but 1/64s are more of a challenge.
    Thanks for posting that.

Here are more pictures of not leaving well enough alone. The Blue Beetle just received a wheel upgrade from a doner die cast I picked up in the clearance aisle at Walmart for $3 yesterday. Very easy swap. VW is screwed together and I only had to trim about a 1/4 inch off the axles. My neice picked up the VW in Sri Lanka last year for me. red VW has been on here before. The Camaro's are Monogram kits from the early 90s. Both were molded in color and had excellent finishes so I did not repaint the bodies. Monogram made awesome kits. I came into a large Hot Wheels collection that I will be keeping a lot of, selling some, and giving some away. Won’t be for awhile because I’m not sure what I’m doing yet and have been very busy. So I did contact the mods on Tacoma World about selling on here. They said it’s not a problem selling in this thread and if we want it might be better to start a Hot Wheels buy and sell in the “buy and sell other” thread. I was thinking it would be better in this thread because I don’t know if any of you go into the buy and sell thread. What do you guys think?

I don't go there but I would for Hot Wheels. Might be a good idea for a separate thread, just so stuff doesn't get lost in the everyday postings of this thread.

I agree, a separate thread would be a gooder idea.

The second thread sounds good. Maybe we should still make a quick post here to let everyone know to check it out.
I work in shipping and if you guys are interested in doing this the post office (USPS) is the cheapest way send anything under 2 pounds. Size does effect their rates but Hot Wheels should be cheap to send that way.

Here are a few more wheel swaps. 65 Galaxie from Racing Champions. Fairly easy swap. The other 3 are Hot Wheels which were harder to do. The yellow panel being the worst. Also added ladder bars to the Galaxie and tail pipes to a few of the others made from aluminum injector stacks from my parts box.real ryders 024.jpg real ryders 026.jpg real ryders 027.jpg real ryders 031.jpg

Galaxie looks pretty cool. Was it already a gasser?
