Brush some paint on the rim and use a q tip to soak up the access. I usually dab it off with a paper towel but watched a video with them using q tips the other day. It gets into the edges better.

My good friend was moved into assisted living today. Last summer noticed he was forgetting stuff. After having a heart attack last fall I noticed it more. His wife is battling cancer so I was going over to help them out on my way home from work. Then he had a stroke and when he came home it was worse. A few weeks ago he fell and split his head open and actually broke a vertebrae in his back. While in the hospital they diagnosed him with fast progressing dementia. He has no family but his wife has two brothers that live to far to be coming over to help so they wanted to put them both into assisted living to help her and so he wouldn’t hurt himself. She is still home but will be moving in with him after they sell the house. Unfortunately with everything going on at this time the place he is in does not allow visitors in at this time. Talking with her today I didn’t know what to say when she told me she wanted me to have his collection. I’ve been collecting Hot Wheels for over 20 years with him and been to many car and toy shows with him. His collection like mine is mostly vw bugs with a lot of customs.

Sorry to hear this about your friend. Life is not very fair sometimes. I have seen dementia in my own family and would not want to go out like that.
Except his collection. Its obvious his wife knew who would appreciate a gift like that the most. Wish the best for everyone with this. Sorry

About a month ago I had this GTX posted and commented about messing up the paint job. Here it is now after a repaint, new engine and tubbed out. Turned out a lot better. The 68 Mustang was a disappointment somewhat that I finished this week. The front end had some mold issues and the hood is bowed somewhat. I added the tunnel ram to the 428 and made the back rims deeper by splicing rims together. The last picture is a F100 I just finished drawing. I have been working on putting together a coloring book if I can ever get sponsors or a publisher. I'm sorry but I am still partial to old Ford trucks. black and white 4 006.jpg black and white 4 007.jpg black and white 4 012.jpg black and white 4 008.jpg black and white 4 093.jpg

66 Impala SS. Stock build . Went crazy on the early 90s Trans Am when I bashed a Pro Stock Firebird kit with a stock Trans Am kit. Kits used to be cheap and you could do that. Not anymore. 55 210 Belair also was tubbed. These were all built in the early 90s. Just picked up a 77 Econoline, 63 Nova station wagon and a 59 El Camino kits to build. Also got a neat 92 Bronco 1/64 scale I will post later.dec20 pics 127.jpg dec20 pics 129.jpg dec20 pics 118.jpg dec20 pics 120.jpg dec20 pics 122.jpg

Worked on some more Datsun Wagons. Removed tampos with brake cleaner, came off super easy with no effect to paint. Swapped bases and interiors for the all black/all red. Wheel swap as well.

    Nice.
Brake fluid does work great for removing decals just make sure the body is clean if you plan on painting afterwards.
Lacquer thinner works too with more effort and paint will lay down afterwards. I've used both.

The beer semis I picked up at an estate sale 5 or 6 years ago still in their original packaging which I saved. The Mean Machine car hauler might be rare. Ive never seen another one. Im not into motorcycles but this one is bad ass. I won it at a car show, They were giving prizes like that instead of trophies. Wish more shows did that.december 2020 4 419.jpg december 2020 4 412.jpg december 2020 4 416.jpg december 2020 4 231.jpg december 2020 4 232.jpg
