Unfortunately no. I do have some other cars, not hot wheels. That have the original box.

Man that makes me wish I was 8 years old playing with those again in 1968. So neat.

Same here. When I get some of these cars I can’t help but to roll them around on the countertop.

Custom bug I bought on eBay. Thought the card looked a little blurry in the picture but thought it was just the way they took the picture and probably my computer and bad eyes. Nope, it’s a poor quality custom card with badly placed stickers on the car itself. Looks good on the shelf.

So, since you guys love Bugs and Hot Wheels, here's the Hot Wheels Herbies.

I couldn't decide whether I wanted the Love Bug or Monte Carlo versions, so I got both:

[IMG]IMG_8966 by Mike M, on Flickr

The subtle differences between the models are awesome (seats, roll bar, wheels, tires, running boards, stripe color and placement, etc). The only knocks I have is that the driver's door handle on the Monte Carlo wasn't fit right which was a quick fix and that the Goodyear logos on the tires aren't awesome (see the first "O" in the driver side rear tire). The driver side rear wheel on in particular was placed over some scratches on the tire. Since I display driver side out, I wanted to swap tires with the passenger side and when I tried to remove the tire it just simply started to damage the logo, so I said forget it, I'll live with it. It's still a mass-produced car and I cannot guarantee another one that I receive would be any better.

EDIT: Just performed tire surgery and swapped the better tire to the outward side. Happier with the results.
[IMG]IMG_8985 by Mike M, on Flickr
The "A" isn't perfect now, but the really bad "O" is fixed.
So, with that being said, I figure I'll annoy everyone showing my updated cases. Pending getting a 3rd and final large case as I can fill one, my displays are done. You can see the cars I've picked up since the last time I posted, the 3 FnF cars (RX-7, Civic and Evo), the NSX and the pair of Herbies.

Posting something a little different today. The CJ5 was a stock build with big wheels. Not sure where I found those. The 240SX Sylvia is a Japanese kit I built as is. The BMW received a wheel upgrade. All 3 were built 10-12 years ago. I was given the BMW and initially thought what am I going to do with that but liked the way it turned out.dec 20 pics 072.jpg dec 20 pics 094.jpg dec 20 pics 096.jpg dec20 pics 159.jpg

Scored this the other day at I can't remember where, liked the colors. Bet it would haul on the track. Probably end up getting one for my nephew and letting him take the hot wheels for a spin.

My collection pretty much done but I'm loving seeing everything still. The larger scale models really starting to catch my eye. Cheers

I ended up deciding the Monte Carlo tires would forever bother me and I’m taking my chances on a replacement. See what happens, I suppose.

Tinker Toy, Is that a Celica ? Nice.
William 63, Better you than me. I was out having to cover my sunflowers and bleeding hearts yesterday while it was sleeting. Thought this stuff was over.

I believe they called those Celica's Toyotas version of the Mustang. They looked a little like the Mustang II from the side view. I would love to bring that home if I had a place to put it.

I would love to take that home too. @tinker_troy is that yours? Or are you in a scrapyard?

Apologize if someone asked in the 190 pages between then and now, but are those 2 red lifeguards on the right side 2nd gen double cabs? I've never seen one before in any color

Yes they are. Made by matchbox. One is just a generic lifeguard. The other is a more accurate San Diego fire dept life guard. They make a yellow one too. I can take a couple close ups tomorrow if you’d like to see them .
