Both of these builds are from the mid 1980s. They are the same Johan 63 Fury kit. The one is a stock build and the other I went all out on. I removed all the side trim, narrowed the rear end, Swapped engines and installed plug wires, fuel lines. Back then "Pro Street" was the rage when building cars. Johan kits sell for $50 and up today if you can even find them. I got mine when they were cheap and have about 40 of them.dec 20 pics 045.jpg and heater hoses. dec 20 pics 047.jpg dec 20 pics 050.jpg dec 20 pics 052.jpg

Won’t all get done today but cleaning the garage and trying to get some of the stash organized.

I have a feeling its not to demanding. If you are like me you spend more time messing around than doing any work. Those totes and boxes will be getting the most of your attention. I think I am spotting a Volkswagen rim in the back ground. Is their a bug in your garage that it fits on?

Trying to clean but yes more messing around than anything. Getting the winter crap out and into the shed. Few cars I bought get piled up on every corner. Putting them into small bags and into some totes.

And yes that is a vw rim, good eye. It’s the spare that came with my retirement project. Hoping to get some plumbing done and a new ceiling back up in the garage this summer. Going to have to move everything out when that does happen.

Very Nice!!!!!!!!! The 1 pc back window and narrow thing- a - bobber over the license plate makes me think it is a 60 to 63. My dads 64 VW was black with the red and white interior like yours. I like the lowered stance. Do you have the nerf bumpers for it? I always liked the California look with those. That's gotta be fun to tool around in.

Its a 63 with the red and white interior. I sold a manx dune buggy to buy it years ago. has a few rough spots but its original paint so there shouldn't be any big surprises. I have the original bumpers and a set of nerf bars for it.

I just want to say thanks for this thread. I forget how I even found it last week, but I finally read all 200 pages. Had no idea there was a customs world and all this amazing work being done. We took the kids to Branson on Friday and every evening my wife would roll her eyes and say she hoped I wasnt going to start collecting Hot Wheels now. Through half a dozen "holy shit, I had this one! Look!" I still managed to assure her I wouldnt. I dont think sneaking a Tacoma or 2 to try to make look like mine counts as collecting, right?
Seriously, thanks for the awesome thread

Walked in Walmart today and grabbed the Lil II Short 63 Nova Gasser. They just stocked the displays. I picked up the 6 55 Chevys a week or two ago. Those are for future builds unless somebody needs one. There were 10 in the display. I left some for others. The last picture is my diecast junk yard. The silver 53 Belair will live again. The 40 Woody is going to get a wheel swap and patina. The paint is already worn thru and is brown underneath. The others are waiting for paint or wheel replacements. I have learned to hang on to everything.Gassers 005.jpg Gassers 011.jpg Gassers 015.jpg

Got the Tacoma out on the bike trails at Kent State. Summer wheels are back on and I just ordered stainless Tacoma letters for the tailgate and just picked up the chrome trim for the dash. Plan to add the stainless interior trim kit. I know everyone is into black everything. I prefer a different road. The Tacoma wont be seeing anymore Ohio winters hopefully. Also got the 65 Galaxie uncovered and spent the weekend just cleaning up under the hood. My collection goes from 1/64 scale to 1/1 scale.taco dix 007.jpg Gassers 017.jpg Gassers 018.jpg
