Cool Gasser 65 Comet. Got a picture?
I only have 1 in my collection of the 65 Comets. Its blue with no lettering.
Dumb founded on the car hauler you posted. I see MH on the grill but the cab looks like a 63-65 Chevy.

Johan 61-62 Dodge Dart. Built straight out of the box in early 80s. 68-69 GTO is a Monogram kit with Chevy Rallaye wheels. At the time it seemed like a good idea in the 80s. The 57 Fairlane is a AMT stock build also from same era. I have a about a dozen 1/64 and 1/43 die cast builds I will be posting soon. dec 20 pics 020.jpg dec 20 pics 023.jpg dec 20 pics 029.jpg dec 20 pics 030.jpg dec 20 pics 031.jpg

    Nice,
Naturally I would have about every 65 Galaxie you can think of because that is what's in my garage but I haven't seen that one yet.
Was in Walmart this morning but couldn't get close to the displays because a pair of vultures were tearing the Hot Wheels rack apart and everything else around it. They had 2 shopping carts blocking the display and were just grabbing a hook at a time making sure they got everything they were looking for. I hate those guys. You'll see them at the swap meets trying to sell that stuff. I wont waste my time or money with them.

I don’t know the difference between a 64 and a 65 Galaxie but hot wheels did make a 64 on a ramp truck. They also made a 65 Galaxie but I haven’t seen that on any truck. Not yet anyway.

65 Galaxies had stacked headlights. 64 were side by side.
The 65 and 66s get confused and so many parts are interchangeable. The 66 was slightly more rounded but same basic shape.
Its the same with your Beetles. They may all look the same but there are subtle changes over the years that can tell you about what year your looking at.
New cars today I don't even try to figure things out like that. They all look the same. I keep thinking jelly beans on wheels.

Seems most the people I run into who are looking at Hot Wheels are greedy weirdos for the most part (not like us super cool dudes and the one dudette in here)
Usually I play nice, talk a little, leave and come back when they are done.
The worst was a guy who was sitting in the isle and had two boxes of those mystery cars, the ones that come in the little bag, spread out all over the floor, feeling up each one looking for something.... I went and did the rest of my shopping, came back half an hour later and he was still there.
The last guy I ran into I thought was working at WalMart, turns out he was just a customer but he didn't want to wait around for them to put the new cars out so he just started doing it. Nice guy, just a little.... yeah.

I think the parts on the mid 60’s Mercury Marauders were interchangeable with the Galaxies. They added the large Top side Body molding on the merc’s.

Not a Galaxie but my dad drove a Ford Fairlane 500. Not sure the year but I want to say 67? It had the stacked headlights. Didn’t think much of it then but would love to have it now.

I went to the old Toys R Us a few years back with my brother while he was visiting us from South Carolina to check out the Star Wars and Hot Wheels displays. The store had not opened yet and there were several vultures there arguing over who was going to get first crack at the Hot Wheels. My brother had no idea these guys were that ridiculous. So we started talking a bunch of crap to get them worked up even more. I told my brother to run for the one Hot Wheels rack and clear the racks before they can get there and I would do the same with the other. We had no intension of doing that but just stood back and watched them running to beat us in back and laughed. We were just there to look for Star Wars stuff for my brother.
Our local Target store had to threatened to remove the diecasts because those guys were going at it in the store. We have 4 major swap meets and a dozen smaller ones in this area along with 2 large fleamarkets weekly. You seldom find anything on the store shelves.

Soul Surfer is correct that a lot of parts would interchange between the Fords and Mercury's. For the most part the bodies were unique to each brand but everything else could be swapped.

    William 63 The 66 - 67 Fairlane's had the stacked headlights.
People are always confused with the Galaxies and Fairlane's.
In high school I sold the 65 Corvair my dad bought me for a first car and bought a dark blue 67 Fairlane 500 2 door hardtop which I rolled over before I graduated. He knew I was going to do something like that. What he didn't know was the Corvair almost got me and my buddies killed when one of them gave a semi truck driver the finger and he ran that little Corvair down with his semi. He was so close to my back bumper and we weren't getting away. With the friends I had I needed something with more speed.
