That is so true. I just recently started paying attention at the variety of HotWheels and Matchbox cars and Walmart hasn't had anything new in the last five or six weeks. Does anyone know when Walmart restocks the shelves for these die cast cars ? Today at my local, I literally counted 42 matchbox cars and less than 20 HotWheels cars. When, when, when ? ? ?

I don’t know if it’s because they haven’t restocked the shelves or because people are buying them up before I get there.

Maybe it's a Walmart issue with getting a shipment? They used to be fully stocked every week and have dump bins in the isles. I haven't seen a dump bin in 6-9 months at our local Walmart.

Has anyone looked into the buy / sale / trade rules here on Tacoma world? I know there is a group of us who would be interested among ourselves back and forth. I was snooping on that link for the first time today. I'm always selling or buying. It would be cool to just do it at cost or even trade plus shipping. Help each other out sort of thing.

Didn’t really look good at the buy / sell rules on here but did pm the mods awhile back to ask about buying, selling, and trading on here and they said it would be fine on this thread but also suggested maybe starting an actual Hot Wheels buy and sell page.

Here are a pair of 65 Mustang fast backs that are based on the same kit. The Bronco Mustang is Dick Brannon's car. The Trudell Mustang was a sheet of decals with no photos to work from to paint that kit with. It was a generic kit. I was able to find a picture of Bob Trundell's car and recreated it. He was a racer out of Detroit.
A few years ago I was fortunate to visit a guys private collection of old AFX drag cars in Youngstown and he had several of Dick Brannon's cars. The guy had over 100 fully restored race cars including cars from Sox and Martin, Mickey Thompson and Don Garlits in 3 buildings. All just tucked away out of public view. I was commissioned to draw a couple of them but would have never known they were there otherwise.

Just 1/64s. The oldest is the 87 TBird from Matchbox from late 80s. The Rancheros and shoebox Ford are from about that time as well. I washed the wheels on the TBird and GTO and the grills on the shoebox and 55 Chevy to bring out the details.

Here is a custom Evel Knievel bug I had bought on eBay. Wish it had real riders but that’s ok. The I on the roof decal is lifted in the corner. Going to try to fix it today while I have it out. Might have to take the whole thing off.

Was so excited when they came out with the Scania Rally Truck but soooo disappointed in the wheels. So, changed wheels and swapped cabs around...20210523_090440.jpg
