Red 69 Corvette is the other promo I mentioned a few posts back when I posted the blue 69 Corvette. Black 50 Mercury was my first attempt at building a custom 37 years ago. The Buick Opel GT Gasser originally was a V6 Gasser kit. That was tossed for a 426 Hemi. I ditched the wimpy tires and wheels as well. It is one of my favorites.dec 20 pics 105.jpg dec 20 pics 112.jpg dec 20 pics 113.jpg dec 20 pics 115.jpg

That looks like an oldie with the red line tires and mag wheels.
Wanna say I had one of those in the early 70s before I beat it up with a hammer to make it look wreaked.
Couldn't leave well enough alone even back then.

At one time or another I had most of the original ones.
Also used to have the hot wheels track too but we got rid of that when my mom started to swat us with the strips after she saw what I was doing with the hammer.

Yup. Its time. I only drive it to work once a week just to keep it lubricated. I dont care for car shows anymore unless I am there looking. Cruises bore me to tears. Its the same cars week in and week out and same people telling you the same story about their car every week. I parked it at the Ravenna Octane Nights cruise last week and had a guy driving me nuts telling me about his El Camino before I even got my car wiped down. They had 3400 cars at that cruise and shut down the main drag thru east side of town.
I like to see different cars / people and used to go all over but with the price of gas and my car getting 12MPG you dont want to go far anymore.
I am wanting something that is more practical. Ive looked at new cars and I am not impressed. I need something that can go anywhere pretty much and is good on gas and can haul a wheel chair. My wife has a form of MS called CMT and she has her good and bad days. I have to think about the future with what I buy. Between me and you I want a small short bed regular cab 2 wheel drive like a first gen Tacoma or Mazda B2200 to trick out and play with. My brother in law has a 93 Tacoma that I am always looking at. Got to sell the Galaxie first. I've gotten offers close to but not the $19000 I am asking yet. I still have the rest of the summer and fall shows and swap meets to show it at. After31 years it be sad to see it go.

So I went to Walmart this morning and found a Matchbox 2021 Toyota Hilux. I've never seen a 3rd gen four door Tacoma but this is sooooooo close. I was thinking of hacksawing off the "Avalanche wings" (flairs behind the cab) so it looks more Tacoma like. So I ask you mini car collectors, did I score a base hit or a home run ? ? ?

Nice. I am still trying to figure out why Hot Wheels and Matchbox and the others will put out trucks nobody cares about but not cash in on the Tacoma's popularity. Toyota is probably being a stinker about it but then why did a Hi Lux come out? Because I never seen this one before and I am wanting one myself now id say that's a home run. Don't hack on it until you find a second one just in case it doesn't go well.

I agree with RLMoody, wait to you get another one. I haven’t seen that one yet either. When you do get another - cut it and lift it! Score either way!

    Williams63,
You guys are right about holding off on the hacksaw. I had more time today to go on the hunt for another 2021 Toyota Hilux. Five Walmarts, two dollar trees, and one Kroger.....Nothin. Absolutely nothin. I must have really got lucky yesterday when I scored the Hilux. I wish I knew exactly when each store gets a shipment of hot wheels and matchbox cars. I'll keep looking I recon.

    crazychris,
I sure hope your correct in saying hot wheels will finally make us a 3rd GEN 4-door.....

Those little xBs are neat. I wish someone around here would do something like that to a real one. No imagination I guess.
