Walked by the buckets of Hotwheels and saw the LC sitting on top. Went looking for the Taco but found nothing. I did snag the Celica tho. It’ll look nice next to my Mk3 Supra

Pure Hell and the Winged Express are a set of 1/64 altereds. The 64 Chevy Nova wagon is a stock AMT kit that did not even have a motor. I went the Gasser route with it. This kit was terrible to build.I actually bought 2 kits when the first kit melted when I tried to remove the paint that kept lifting with reducer. Never saw one do that before. Second kit turned out better but fought it all the way. Moebius had a Gasser 2 door hardtop version in the works before they went out of business. I keep hearing it is still going to happen. The 68 Mustang is my diecast 1/24 Bullet movie car with a wheel swap and slightly raised suspension. The original sat way to low.

Williams 63 might be taking a closer look at the bottom 2. I think I see a Microbus theme there.
Pretty cool. If you like them our thoughts shouldnt matter.

I stopped collecting the vw bus awhile back. They were getting good money for them and hot wheels was making the liberty promotion bus for collectors. Seemed like there was a new one every other week. Sold most of the ones I had and only kept a few. Sad thing was most of the ones I had were selling all over eBay for less than half of what I payed. I don’t buy hoping to sell higher some day but I did have a lot of those I spent a lot of money on.

I keep telling people buy because you like it and want it for your collection. Dont buy it as an investment. I have friends that have totes full of hot wheels they bought thinking they would be worth something someday. They were disappointed. There are some peices that take off but most dont. With my collection being a lot older I have some good investments but I have had them for 35-40 years which kind of defeats the investment part. No quick profits there.
I enjoy them for what they are. If I was 10 again I would be playing with them or blowing them up with M80s or a hammer. Cant beleive I used to do that.
Back in the 70s and 80s I loved Nascar and had alot of stuff I wish I had sold then when prices were high. You cant give it away today.

Same here I don’t buy any of them hoping I can sell for more money later. I have bought many cars that I may or may not have already had only because the price was so cheap. When I started collecting vw bugs I didn’t bother with the convention or collector cars because most people I knew buying them we’re doing just that. Buying to re-sell. As time went buy and the collection got bigger I wanted the convention cars to just have in the collection and started to buy a few here and there. The one car I love the most was probably the cheapest one I bought. Still don’t have that green treasure hunt bug yet. Some day

I droll over some of the Hot Wheels Gassers I see out there but will not pay those kinds of prices no matter how much I may want it. My wife told me to stop being so cheap when she sees how much I want something but I stay grounded most of the time. Sucks doing without sometimes.

I agree with you and williams63 on this as I have never spent more than 94¢ for any Matchbox or HotWheels toy. Ever. However, when I found out that Toyota was finally going to license the 3rd gen 4-door to Hot Wheels, I was amped up. And when I found out it was going to be in VooDoo Blue like my pickup truck, I had to have one (turned out to be 10). I was looking every single day at every Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Dollar Tree within 20 miles of Denton, Texas and I found nothing. I ended up on ebay and paid sixteen bucks apiece and have no regrets. I gave one to each of my sons, saved two for me (one that sits on the dashboard of my Tacoma and one I will keep unopened), and the remaining five will go to grandkids when the time comes. Seriously, what are the chances of me special ordering a 2020 Tacoma Sport VooDoo Blue in September of 2019, and HotWheels coming out with the same thing in 2022 ? How many guys can say that.........

I just found all of my old HW today, what a blast from the past that was. They're all pretty well played with. Here are some from the 70s I had...

Some of the things that now reside in the garage that should not be there. The bedroom upstairs only holds so much. Once in the garage they often find new homes. I'm not sure I can do that with a lot of these. Made the shelves in these cases with packing foam and corrugated plastic. Its a shame Nascar is about worthless these days. I still have a lot of nice pieces just boxed up which will happen with these more than likely.
The Budweiser Thunderbird is my Bill Elliot garage phone. Been there since 99 and still works.architecture Taco world 239.jpg architecture Taco world 241.jpg architecture Taco world 244.jpg architecture Taco world 260.jpg

Drool!!!! I mean cool! I am seeing SE Gassers mentioned which is an organization out of the south but the video looks like the West Coast. I have met some of the SE Gassers when they come up to Ohio and Kentucky for races. I love all forms of racing going straight or in circles but cant get enough of cars like these you posted. When I was 8 or 9 my dads best friend had a black 55 Chevy Gasser he took me for rides in. My dad would always warn him not to get crazy in it with me in the car but Leon would do it anyway when we got further down the road because he knew I liked that. Thanks!
