The older diecasts that I have, several of them have paint issues. It is really noticeable when they paint one color over another like they do with the Tutone cars. They are not doing any prepping of the surfaces. Decals also yellow with time. The sunlight can wreak havoc as well. I never put up the shades in the rooms I keep my cars in or my wife's Raggidy Anns unless I am in there.

I have a few older redlines that the paint looks almost like it’s oxidized, bubbles and fading. I try not to keep them in any sun. I have a few that the package turned yellow that never seen sun like this one. Don’t know if it will show in the pic.

If you keep any of them in the plastic protector card don’t leave them anywhere that may see moisture. This is one I bought cheap because the guy had it in a protector pack and started to get mold on it. Cleaned up the card as best I could. Will probably open this one up someday.

I appreciate you guys posting this stuff.. otherwise I would have never known it even existed.

I posted a set of pictures from the thrift store find I made the other day and the first one the plastic was yellow.. or tinted or something.. but it's consistent and it makes me think it was made that way?

    this one

I could be wrong but I would say it wasn’t made like that. Mines a matchbox and I bought it brand new when it came out years ago. It was a nice clear plastic on it. Think it’s just old. It’s out but doesn’t see any sunlight and in a smoke free home.

New release of the original vw Dragon Wagon. I have the original at home I will take a picture next to when I get home. This thing is pretty detailed.

Apparently I was wearing my lucky patch hat today when I stopped in O'Reilly's to pick up an oil filter.

Nah, K-trucks were all over the place where I grew up, but I never owned one personally. They are pretty freaking cool though in my opinion.

If you drive a Daihatsu in my area with all the auto manufacturers someone will try to put it in a ditch. I think they better keep those at the airport. A couple years ago I had a guy going postal on me because I was driving a Corolla. Yelled at me to buy an American car next time. I told him I did. It was built in California. It didn't help the situation any.

meanwhile these guys that yell and scream about "buy american" are wearing clothes, watching tvs, using phones, etc - all made in China. and his car was probably assembled in Mexico. you should have asked him wear his shirt and pants were from

The blue double cab turd legitimately has slightly larger tires and is taller as compared to the acces cab turds with the camper. Pretty cool. Grill paint looks like shit though.
