Hot Wheels

Both the Supers I found were hanging on pegs on the front row.. the Dodge Van I found at a Dollar General and the Skyline I found at Target.

 

ya ive noticed a few online just wonder where they all ended up haha

ya the price to sell them second hand is crazy not my style since i dont really collect i just look when im bored and if i see a honda/acura or porsche i usually grab em

Hang on to that one. It’s one I should have bought years ago when I had the chance. Thought they were a little bit to much money. Now they are 3x what they were back then.

 

It has a forever home, I found that one at Toys R Us up behind the cash register while I was on a diaper run.

 

I was at Big Lots yesterday and found this hanging...1936 Ford Coupe Black MBX Metal 48/100 Long Card.

 

Not really a fan of the gold wheels on a pink car but this bug shines!

 

I stopped at Walmart on my way to work this morning to see if I could find that green matchbox bug. I didn’t find it. Had a few matchbox cars and a handful of others but not one single Hot Wheels. Thought it was odd.

 

Anyone have a suggestion for a good "premium" hotwheels retailer? I never seem to find any.

 

I look every time I am in a store that has a toy section....it can be Ross, Target, Walmart, Big Lots, Advanced Auto, Dollar General....ect..you name it...most every retailer has toys. When I walk in with wife, she knows I'm going to take a small detour and look for cars...my best pick up spots have been Walmart (evenings or mornings seem to be best) and the Dollar General. Target has many also, but I don't go there as often. Find a store that is out of the way and not very busy as in a small town near you with less traffic. Also ask the manager at the Dollar General to hold a box of Matchbox for you. The Dollar General manager in my daughter's town said he doesn't put out the toys until everything else is stocked...and he would hold a box for me if I wanted to look through it. He collects stamps so he gets it LoL. I do like it when a fresh box is laid out in front of me but it's the chase that I enjoy. Remember, you may have months of dry spells, but you will hit some honey holes and the next thing you know you'll have a bag full of cars. I used to buy only Dodge and Plymouth cars/trucks exclusively but in the past few years, I now buy what I like and what others like as I trade/sell some locally.

 

I've been getting lucky with finding "hard to find" ones like Tacos at Kroger. Walked in this morning for some cereal before work and found a red one and quite a few DeLorean's from BttF

 

Any particular “premium” ones your looking for? Treasure Hunts, white lightning’s,100% hot wheels, convention, dinner exclusive…. Or just a nice ride with real riders.

I scored mine at Walmart - there's just so many resellers out there it's no fun trying to outsmart them all the time. Target and Walmart are the "go to" places for me for Hot Wheels Premiums but it's never a guarantee.

 

Going to try a tabletop game called Gaslands this weekend that uses Hotwheels and Matchbox. Hacked up an old car and created this beast. First time using a wash so that's not the greatest but it makes a pretty good Mad Max style car to play with.
