I like that story-those days were so cool! I'm posting up a few old photos of Christmas with Tonka photobombs in them.

Remember the "Johnny Express" remote control bigrig?

And this one shows that Johnny Express and those Tonks still fastened on their cardboard

Like me and my buddy would hop on the Schwinns and ride from my town, Itasca, Ill. all the way down Rte. 19 to O'Hare airport to watch jets...almost a half-day! Come home in time for dinner and not a question asked about where we been!

Yep,grab the BB gun, a tube of BB's hop on the Stingray with the BB gun slung over my shoulder from a piece of rope. Ride about 3 miles to a patch of woodland where we all hung out and had a "BMX" track with a dirt mound jump and tree fort about 50' up in an old old oak tree. Couldn't do that these day without getting the cops called and hauled in for trespassing ect...

maybe not but every now and then I run into someone selling off his entire collection and you can get it cheap. Especially when they are open. That last 100% vw I posted I bought for $2

these are some really cool old photos. its great you still have a lot of the cars you played with when you were a kid. I didn't have many Tonka or other trucks but I had a lot of hot wheels. don't have any of them today just the 4 corgi race cars I posted a few pages back.

Dude! We lived in Japan for awhile and I watched it as reruns with a different name in Japanese! It blew my mind when we got stateside and I saw it in English. It was my favorite show after “COMBAT! with Vic Morrow.”

I have a good memory for numbers and song lyrics for some reason and the Speed Racer song lyrics are still in my head:D from all those years of it being on our TV at 3:30PM every day.

This is why I stopped collecting about 10 years ago-I have too many! Otherwise I'd probably be picking up some new ones. I have run across some really neat cars at sales but I just pass.
