I don’t know why they did that. It has its own display case around the car and the base of that is down inside that box but the bottom half is empty.

The bottom of all the 100% Hot Wheels are very detailed but don’t say Hot Wheels on them.

My only guess would be some say 100% hot wheels and some don’t but come in the same kind of box.

You had me second guessing myself when you mentioned the screws. Never noticed it and thought they didn’t use them. It’s definitely a hot wheels but not the 100% hot wheels.

Not a collector and really know nothing about Hotwheels but I was searching through the matchbox section at the local Dollar Tree looking for Toyatas and found this non matching car and card. I'm wondering if this is common?
    Google search bring up nothing.

They are considered error cards and not very common but do happen. That is why a person will sell them for a bit more IF a collector wants to pay more for that particular error. Sometimes errors are in the car itself...paint/tires/missing parts, upside down...etc. The better the vehicle is and the cooler the error, the more of a premium they can get from a buyer who looks for that. Just my 2 cents... :)

Still no luck on the Matchbox 4Runner. But I did find a lovely EG Civic at Walmart. Time to relive the early 2000s.

Rubber band that holds the top down is dried out and broke.

Those rubber bands are going to damage the paint in time. I'd pop in there and take 'em out

This one is a custom. Painted and real riders added. Has the base from some other car. Sides were cut for exhaust pipes and roof cut for the blower. You can see where the base was cut to fit. Still has the front bumper.
