Here's one for ya... one is 1:58 scale and the other is 1:59 scale.. both from 1997 based on a offer in the back of the card for a 1998 calendar.

Yeah pretty much. I do still look for the original hot wheels custom beetle and the original topper (Johnny Lightning) vw bug.

Except for the bronze 57 Chevy these all received wheel swaps. The Thunderbird SC is a old Matchbox car I've had around since the late 80s.The 55 Chevy Gasser was originally one of those white ones they flooded all the stores with with Gold wheels and engines. I was counting the 55 Chevy's I have and its up to 28.

 

These are for William63. I went to a car cruise in Ravenna Ohio a couple weeks ago that had 4300 cars show up including a couple dozen VWs like these. The town only has 11000 people. They call it Octane Nights and when the show ends they have everyone rev their engines and call it the Ravenna Rumble. It gets bigger every year. I rode my bicycle in and chained it to a pole because you can get anywhere near this event for parking. 15000 spectators. The show started at 3 but cars were parking at 7:30 in the morning. The Type 2 Micro Bus had large bags of seeds in back stamped "Home Grown." I wonder what that meant? It also had a bar inside made from the front of another Type 2.

 

Must have been a great show! Second vw was chopped. Not easy to do on a vw bug.

Original 1968 Beetles. The blue one is made in Hong Kong. Red one is U.S
Hong Kong version has headlight’s that are part of the chassis and stick through holes in the fenders. The U.S version has silver painted headlights on the fenders.

Original 1970 Topper Bug Bomb in dark green. Later mid 90’s Johnny Lightning in a lighter green. The originals have exhaust pipes that are separated. On the newer ones the pipes are stuck together. People are asking stupid money for the original ones!!
