Been striking out lately! Target was almost sold out of every hot wheel today.

 

Every time i have been to one (only when i go out of town) they all seem to be pretty wiped. I never see them properly stocked

 

I've mentioned timing a few times.

In my area, the Target stores open up at 0700 or 0800 depending on the store. Whatever the employees do, they don't get around to restocking the HW pegs until 0900 to 1030 ish.

I don't seem to be the only one who has figured this out in my area. And they don't get regular shipments on anything. One day it might be some HW Premiums, another day it might be some Matchbox Moving Parts. Another time it might be Monster Trucks. There's no pattern, rhyme or reason.

Most of the time if you ask an employee to scan the tag for say, regular mainline HWs, they might tell you oh we should get some on the 28th... but more and more are rather rude and unwilling to help you so I just quit asking.

I've met some really nice people who understand that selling things is their business and will tell you all sorts of things so they're not all bad.

 

I’ve been messing around with this old school matchbox 4 runner and happy with the progress. I think I will leave it bare metal. The roof is wrinkle paint. Needs a little touching up in places but it is something different..

 

I finally found the 500E! Now, if I can find a 1/64 black W140...


Hobby Lobby also had the E39 M5, but since it's not Silverstone Metallic, I passed.

I finally completed the set!

On the target subject, this is where I get the luckiest. I too have noticed that they all seem to restock around 10-11. Some vary and may stock an hour sooner or an hour later. For the most part, it’s between 10-11. On rare occasions they restock overnight. Timing is everything, even if the pegs are not stocked yet, look for the carts. They’re usually out already with whatever they have for the day. Don’t get discouraged because it’s hit and miss. But I find it much easier to get stuff at target than Walmart or anywhere else.

 

Used to be this. The wheels and drive shaft are from a M2 gmc truck. I liked the k2’s, thought it would give the Toyota some flavor.
