I’ve been looking to buy this for my 2 year old. How does you son like it?

 

He got it for Christmas when he was 5. 6 now and still plays with it. It's great for storing cars.

 

Decided to go with pearl on the wingless r34… not sold on the white rims but I was trying to be different without being flashy. There’s a bit of a gap in the lip but the car isn’t secured completely yet. The headlights are hand drawn and bled a bit from the clear coat. Thanks for the clear coat tips RL

Did a pass through Walmart and nothing really on shelves or in dump bin....peeked at the Monsters...and what da ya know...I'll take it.

I see Kilo got those M2s I just picked up as well. Did you get the square body C10s? My Walmart lately has improved with offerings. Stocking for Christmas.

 

Nope.. no C10s just the 2 Fords and the 57. Can't wait to see what you found though!

 

Matchbox has a 6 card set of County Rescue coming out that's a must have for me. If anyone comes across this whole set and wants to do some trading, please let me know. I'm actually interested in 2 sets to have one to open. I'm also interested in an extra #5 to put in @SJ_81 s Orange Collection.

Ok.. slightly annoyed.
Opened this up to get rid of all the advertising.



Unfortunately, the dry erase markers won't touch the hood logo.



The good news is the dry erase markers also doesn't take off the chrome which allowed me to remove all the side stuff... except the door logo...



While the driver's side door logo doesn't look too horrible... the passenger side was opposite so the logo is on the back of the door. That's the annoying part.



Even more annoying is the quality on the passenger side is bad. The chrome trim is all wonky and the wheels need the flash removed.
On the M2s, the passenger side is the inside or card side.

 

Looks better with out all the decals. My M2s are a pain in the ass to remove decals from as well with dry eraser. The white PanAm decal on the hood of the C10 I just got came off but left a black residue. Gonna hit them with lacquer thinner this afternoon sparingly. I have noticed base coat holds up well but top coat often doesn't with 2 tone paint jobs when you use thinner..

 

Variety of 1/64s I have sitting around. Want to eventually strip that Charlies Angels trailer and redo it. I have 2 of those 59 El Camino's the other is red and black.

 

The first 3 are for Kilo Charlie. These are the square body Chevrolets that just came out by M2.

Here is a lesson for all. I just began to do modifications on these M2s and ran into problems stripping the decals. M2s are a pain to remove. Dry erasers with these are worthless. On the Pan Am truck it turned the hood emblem black and eventually would only remove 3/4s of the logo. I took the rest off with lacquer thinner sparingly. With M2 tutone paint jobs the lacquer thinner will go through the top color if you rub to much quickly. On the Pan Am truck the base color is white. The blue will not hold up to much pressure. I damaged the paint on the tailgate and will have to fix. The logos came off the doors and tailgate and look so much better.
The Pennzoil truck was a simple wipe with thinner and came out great with all logos and letters removed. Yellow is the base color. I kept the white roof.
The black and white Silverado was another pain in the butt. I removed the hood decal with thinner and no problem there sparingly. I used the dry eraser to remove the door emblems and the dry erasers began removing the white paint before it did the decals. Now I have a door to fix. Black is the base color.
Doing modifications is fun and challenging but sooner or later you run into problems like this.
The Power-wagon is that powder blue Hot Wheels with all the decals removed or so I thought. I must of been in a hurry to get it photographed that I forgot to finish wiping it down. Gave it a car crusher suspension and put it in the rock garden.It came out better than expected.

 

ALL of those trucks are awesome!! I have a couple of the Dodge and thought about some mods on that one myself. It definitely looks better without all the logos.

I'm still not confident enough to use the thinner.. especially on that red 57 Chevy... there's some sort of metal flake in that paint.. if I screw it up, the whole car would have to be repainted.

I had a bit of luck with removing m2 decals by using a paint brush and gently painting on paint stripper, it eats them off without disturbing the clear coat with my experience. This was a “coke” truck.
