Being recently retired me and the wife are going on "road trips" close to home and finding some really neat places others could check out if passing through on I76 / I80.
Between Akron and Sharon Pennsylvania we found 4 places worth checking out related to diecasts and collectables just off the interstates.
Summit Racing in Tallmadge Ohio is right there along I 76 and you cant miss it. The retail store you could spend an hour just looking at all the cars on turnstiles and hanging from the walls and ceilings. They have expanded their selections of diecasts as well along with books , t-shirts, hats excetra.
The I76 Antique Mall is a couple exits past there going east and has 50000 sq feet of anything you can imagine including a lot of diecasts. It took me 2 hours to get through there. Heading east on I76 I spotted another place like it closer to Youngstown that we will need to visit as well. I believe its called Land Lion Antiques.
I76 and I 80 merge in Youngstown and do crazy things but just past Youngtown in Sharon Pennsylvania (first exit) there is a place called Kraynacs about 3 miles up the road off I80. They have a toy department that is unbelievable and huge. We were in there for close to 2 hours. It is also a garden and collectables store and major attraction during the holidays . My wife came home with a Legos flower arrangement to put together this winter and I scored 3 somewhat hard to find model kits including the Moebus 65 Chevy2 Gasser kit they were trying to get into production before operations ceased.

Next time I visit my sister in law in Hudson Ohio I will have to check a few of them out. My wife has 5 sisters and the only one I can tolerate lives the farthest away.

More stuff living in the garage. Mustang has been a hair shy of being a parts car several times now residing out there. The CRX is a Japanese kit. The Camaro and Chevelle are pretty neat. The Galaxie was a disappointment with how the paint went on and is just OK. Many mold issues as well. No quality control that day I guess. The Drag on Lady AMX is a old Johann Kit that the decals dissolved as being applied. Common problem with very old kits unbuilt. So not a total loss I weathered it. It has a home in the garage. The Cadillac is a unusual die cast and dont remember the brand off hand. The 30s Ford Delivery is a 1980s Hot Wheel.TACO World hot wheels pics 010.jpg TACO World hot wheels pics 012.jpg

A few cars that were boxed up for the yard sale when we have it. 71 and 43 car are model kits. Both nice. The 71 car was a Polar Lights kit and was so poorly molded that I bought a second stock Charger kit and bashed the two together to get one decent build. Back in those days kits were $8 so it wasn't that big of a deal. The 58 Impala has issues with chassis and Studebaker pickup was OK. Its time for them to go.TACO World hot wheels pics 048.jpg

What dune buggies do you have?
I have a few of the hot wheels ones I can send you.
And plenty of the speed buggy if you don’t have one of those

I did some wheel swaps yesterday.
Swapped Land Rover premium and Jurassic Park Jeep. Also painted some details on the cargo.

Finished a 4Runner that's been on my desk for a while.
    PXL_20240907_192357709.jpg

And also worked on this Chevy. It all went fairly well untill I did the chrome trim; my chrome pen is too thick. I should have stopped but was in the moment and kept going. I will have to clean that up. Other than that, I will just paint the chassis black and call it good.
