so, about these...
i was trying to find ya something to show my appreciation for your generosity (yeah yeah i know, didnt have to, getting rid of stuff, whateva) and i remember seeing these guys from mayalsia on the ebay selling "prototypes".
i thought maybe it was BS but some of the ones were going for quite a bit (not the ones i got, even though i did try on a couple)
so i get a couple, finally and they get shipped on the slow boat and i get them and i'm fairly certain they are not "prototypes"
guessing the pink one might be a test color from the factory that the guy took home and added wheels too and did a half ass home job smashing thr rivets... and the T2 i am guessing is just a paint scheme we haven't got over here yet (i just thought it were pretty).

this is the one i didnt send to you, in person its pretty crappy, chipped paint, loose rivets..



THIS was the one i REALLY wanted but it went for 59 bucks....

 

I’ve been watching a few of those prototypes myself. Mostly the bug rods. Hard to tell if they really are prototypes or not. I do have a few I bought awhile back that said un-spun prototype. Un-spun just meaning they don’t have the rivets so the body comes off the base if you pick it up.

 

I do like the wheels on this one better than the stock ones

 

Got a reply, she said thank you for sharing, she likes the Richie’s pizzeria, vw transporter, and the microbus most of all from the pics you shared, but she said she will be happy with any she can hang on her wall.

Found the chase in the 60 years mustang set. it looks identical to the other one, except it does have the spectra flame paint, and a metal base

 

So my missus decided I needed early valentine day gifts for all the work I’ve been putting into the 4Runner and with the kids lately with all their goings on. She knows I’ve been looking out for certain hot wheels on eBay and Amazon but one always wins over another. So she started sneaking and paying attention. Also she knows my affinity for the deep purple as a color. So here is my first of 3 she said. Lol.

 

Hopefully she gets flowers and candy for Valentine’s Day. I have an excellent candy source if you need suggestions..

 

lol, she already gets spoiled with those, so most likely a sushi dinner out to her favorite place and some flowers. Unless she requests something else.

I’m going to suggest buying those things but add this to it. I bought this for my wife on Valentine’s Day years ago and she got a big kick out of it.

 

Idk man, I don’t even know if this is really a chase, but it is selling for like $25 on eBay and I heard rumor that this was the Chase from collector sites. It’s definitely a different shade of blue.

 

Don’t ask me, I have no idea with all these variations and names. Errors and numbered I get… the rest is magic fairy dust.

 

It’s endless, there’s a lot of cool stuff out there. I try not to keep up but it forces me to keep learning, also helps me narrow down collection preferences.
