I’m in Inland Empire/LA/SoCal and will have to watch tonight’s episode when I return this Saturday the 15th.

 

Matt Smith is perfect in the role.

I like the show , but I think they’re going to screw it up like they did with GOT season 8.

He dead, after the credits the preview for next week's episode said that he's dead

In those final moments he mistook Alicent for Rhaenyra and tried telling her about the Song of Ice and Fire that she asked him about earlier in the episode by his bed. Alicent picked keywords out of it with no context as to what he was actually talking about and now she thinks he was telling her to make sure Aegon takes the throne instead of Rhaenyra.

these last two episodes are going to be pretty intense, all this tension now coming to a head with Viserys gone and the throne up for grabs

 

Not a chance. They have all the book material to work with and different directors

 

I wonder when the dagger is going to be used as evidence for rhaenyra’s claim or if she even gets it now that Viserys is dead.

 

not a single episode has gone by where I haven't said "F*** Alicent"

 

Not counting the last scene, I think Alicent actually wanted to make amends and entertained the idea of a peaceful truce this episode (see the dinner scene). The problem is that both sides (Greens and Blacks) have already passed down this rivalry to their children. Even if Alicent and Rhaenyra truly wanted peace, their children have already internalized the conflict. There is no going back.

 

Found a new person to hate more. Aemond has that face of a dick now.

He is a bad ass, and he is a perfect foil for Daemon.

It is no coincidence that they look and behave exactly the same way.

Their names are even anagrams of each other.

 

Setting it up to where Daemon has to fight his nephew/step brother-in-law who’s riding his dead wife’s dragon is actually pretty genius

 

That’s why the old fat man is a great storyteller.

I’ll have to admit, I skimmed through all of this when I read it years ago, and I’m glad that the show runners have actually changed things around from the books because it’s more exciting this way.

 

Saw the episode tonight and I must say...Wow!

These last two episodes will definitely be eventful.

 

Just finally caught up on the last 2 episodes, really excited to see how they'll differ from the book. They keep rushing things with time jumps (hope its the last for a few episodes including next season), I think they should do some flashbacks next season to bring in the younger actors to flesh out more of the story and slow down. Not sure how this can run for 4 seasons, I'm only seeing 3 but they'll be stretching things just to get to 3 I think.

Time will tell
