Hey guys, Shrockworks is looking for a couple different configurations to test fit some skids on. I am designing a new modular skid package for the earlier 4runners and Tacomas.

The Skids have been built already using a 3rd Gen 4runner(96) and I'm looking for a 96-2004 Double-Cab and Access-Cab to check fitment compatibility. With any luck, every thing that I currently have designed should work on the tacoma's minus the gas skid.

For those of you that don't know, our shop is in the NW area of Houston near Beltway & 249.

    Any Takers? Thanks,

    -Justin

Edit: Just got an email back from an old customer volunteering his 99 Access-Cab. Still needing a Double-Cab though.

^^ looks cool, neat design.. I like it. 3/16"? Must weigh a ton.. Looks like the front mount uses the tow hook bolts, how bout the rest (factory holes?). Any idea about compatibility with other aftermarket front bumpers? ...

    Wish I lived closer!!;)

The skids are made using 7 gauge steel, just slightly thinner than 3/16". The set up shown weighs in at 112 lbs.

They we designed them to use all factory mounting holes with the option to run carriage bolts all the way across the bottom so that you don't have to worry about ripping out bolts dragging the skids over rocks and such.

The skids mount completely independently and you don't have to run our bumper to run the skids, but as for other aftermarket bumpers it really just depends on their mounting system.

I am in the Heights. 2001 dbl cab 4x4. Aside from benefitting the rest of humanity for perpetuity, what are you offering for the usage of a test fit vehicle?
(if you say a "free skid" I am in.)

For a quick test fit I can throw you some free swag. Decals, t-shirt, koozies and such. If we end up needing to borrow a truck for more R&D, I can certainly do better.

PM me. I don't need my truck early Saturday. I can come by and drop it off early, before 9. Just hook me up with a ride back to the Heights so I can hop on my moto. I can get a ride probably in the late afternoon and pick it back up.:rockband:

Here are the results from saturdays test fit. 2001 DC. Looks like we are currently able to cover Radiator, engine and trans.

A t-case skid will be in the works soon.

How's it working out for you? We've since discontinued that rear bumper.

Works great and does what it should and I've tested it! Not a single complaint. I saw that I was removed from internet immortality. Got replaced by a full plate one?
