well then. If we had that same criteria, i was sure not aware of it........would have made our sports teams pretty shitty if all of the athletes had to get Cs or greater lol

Why do you think they get "special tutoring"

 

I knew a guy that made a 1.2 his first semester. He didn't come back

 

huh, i always thought that they were just going back to get handies fromt he lonley librarians.

 

we had a lot of those entire first two years are essentially weed out classes, made harder than they need to be,.

 

I may or may not have failed 3 of my first classes I do however have over a 3.0 right now.

Your school doesn't even know what state it wants to be in

 

You can come back from a shitty year. My first year was around a 1.7! I ended up graduating with a 3.4 though.

Don't forget that your GPA goes away after you land your first job. Your resume will change to show that you graduated with a degree from a school and you drop your GPA.

 

Yup, your GPA gets you your first job and your experience gets you every one after that

FWIW I had a 2.4 my first semester. Football season kicked my ass

My GPA didn't get me a job. i know it's not the norm, but it was my work/field experience and multiple degrees that landed me this one. Can't rely on that being the case though, as not all companies will value those criteria so highly, relative to a GPA for the first job.

I don't think most of those folks ever have to "act" dumb....

Truth. I had returned from having my hard cast put on when I slipped on the stairs and came down hard on my right foot. Took some pain pills and passed the hell out.

The importance of this in the engineering fields cannot be overstated.
