    The engineer in charge of a unit within a production or manufacturing facility. There are a bunch of names for them: OSE, Contact, Unit, Process, Production, etc. Engineer but the job description is more or less the same.

    It's usually the entry-level engineering position in a unit on the Operational side. Fresh out of school engineer is hired and learns a particular unit for a couple of years and gets shuffled around to other units to gain experience within the refinery and organization and then moves into other more senior or specialized roles.
