Houston area (along with DB's not from Houston) BS thread

What do you do when you get off work?

 

I'm just outside of the beltway near 1960/290. I like the area but I don't go downtown ever. For work I take surface streets to I45 near the beltway and wife goes west. Biggest reason I'm here is it's easier to get out of town to see the folks which we do regularly.

290 traffic is pretty rough during rush hours. I avoid it as much as possible. Any other questions about the area just ask.

EDIT: the south might have more members from here there but we have .

Find a place to drink beer, go fishing and drink beer, hand out in someone's garage and drink beer, help the guys fix their trucks and drink beer.

 

At least a 45 min drive to u of h with no traffic

 

Will look more when I get closer to moving but just trying to figure out areas to look for jobs. But thanks for the heads up

I know im moving either to Houston area or Atlanta area. Id like to go to UH for my masters but GSU and Emory also offer the same masters program

You can find decent houses for my expected price range in both areas.

It depends on jobs really. Both places id have no problems living in as the cost of living is less than I'm used to here.

 

Move to Houston. It's hot as hell but at least you're really close to the beach and other awesome places. Plus, you could get donuts from Dennis every day

Or you can move to Baton Rouge, where houses are even cheaper and have awesome food all the time
