Everyone who hasn't, needs to go float the Comal River. Way too much fun.
I've tubed a lot of rivers before, but this beat them all.

Looks a whole lot cleaner now lol. Last time I was there. The river bottom was made of beer cans

 

I haven't floated on the river in a few years. How were the water levels? I've heard of changes to rules for drinking the river (i.e. how much you can have, what sizes..). If they're not too strict, maybe I'll make it back.

 

Thinking of doing a tube trip sometime in July, not sure which one though. Never heard of the Comal

they were ticketing for foam coolers. rules state that you can't have a cooler larger than 16 quarts, and that all coolers mush have a latching lid. i'm sure they get stricter as it gets more crowded, but there were some pretty huge coolers out there without issue. my 20 quart was on the smaller side compared to what we saw. and I think mine was the only one I saw all day that latched closed.

My friends and I used to hang out by the rapids and falls in hopes that groups would flip over and loose their beer. We would help them gather what they lost and kept a few cans as a finders fee.

they have a couple of john boats tied off along the way for you to toss your cans in. great idea to keep the place clean, and i'm sure they've paid for the boats already.
